GenewalDesign got a reaction from walt.farrell in Help window doesn't display
It’s maybe that, I think my Windows is an insider build.
If the help is using IE it explains that.
EDIT : My Windows is indeed an insider build, so it's just a side effect of the removal of IE. I'm just gonna press F for now.

Hi @GenewalDesign,
Thanks for reporting this. It is indeed a bug. I'm logging the issue to be looked at.

should be a beta version in the near future which will hopefully address this issue

Looks like something is going wrong rendering a tile at a low level when zooming in/out. These type of issues appear random and can affect some more than others

I've managed to recreate this locally and have logged the issue

Hello,
I know it's an asked feature a few times for the V1, but now that V2 is out, why not adding this one?
A "Timeline" feature for creating GIFs, and tools like creating frames from layers, image stacking...

GenewalDesign got a reaction from chessboard in Affinity Designer V2 getting really slow and laggy after some time
I think I can create a topic everyday for each freeze I get. Everytime when I'm zooming in/out.
More I use this software, more I'm telling me "You bought it too soon, it's not properly debugged"

Same here, even with Hardware acceleration turned off. It usually happens while zooming or panning. In Publisher this also happens when double clicking a page to jump to.

GenewalDesign reacted to Danel in Extremely disappointed that this installs as an "App" and not regular software program
Hello,
When you buy a tool of any kind... camera for example, you don't ask the customer to be an expert in electronics and optics to assist the design shortcuts of the manufacturers.
The problem with computers is the tradition that comes from the origins of this tool and that forces us to think that a customer must also be a geek or at least comfortable with the intricacies of this technology.
Affinity is a tool and nothing else, no more than Win11 or OS thingy:
you buy, you install, you use the tool.
The expertise lies in the handling of the tool and not in circumventing the inadequacies of designers who still think that it is the clients who must adapt to their whims and not the other way round.
Mickey Mouse has instilled in people's heads that it's normal to buy buggy, poorly designed products...and this idea persists.

GenewalDesign reacted to Medical Officer Bones in Possible ongoing concerted attack on Affinity 2 on these forums
I have noticed that the majority of negative and "disappointed will not upgrade" threads since V2 was released are all started by new accounts. There seems to be a recurring pattern: focus on a single missing feature that's been requested for a longer time or on the new Windows installation method. Or undermine the new features.
Quite a few also mention they will not invest in v2 further and insist they are loyal, but disappointed users. Or "I am really interested, but..." then say they cannot purchase the software until that X feature, that the Y commercial option happens to have, is added. Or they mention they will not upgrade. "It's a promising release, but we should wait it out". "Why isn't feature X implemented yet! Outrageous!".
All of them are thread starters. All seem focused on one thing: focusing on generating negative feelings about V2 and the Affinity products. And all of them are created by accounts that were set up by new accounts following the V2 release. Some use older accounts that were inactive for a long time.
And these accounts often respond to other complaints if that thread is not gaining enough traction.
If I were the moderators, I would investigate if a concerted attack is going on to undermine the v2 release. It seems rather suspicious.
I thought about listing examples, but I think that it becomes quite obvious for moderators once spotted.

Don't you know by now that with its thousands of features VectorStyler can do virtually everything? I heard a rumor the next version will even be able to change a baby's diapers.
