  1. Sorry, I can't share the original as it belongs to the company I work for. Regardless, having you guys work on the file to get it to look like the PS is not the point or question I had. I just wondered if you experienced these yourselves. Since I am not in the office I can't look at what settings have automatically been applied in Adobe Raw. So, by applying sharpness in AP, in theory, should bring up the image to match the PS file? I will have to try that.
  2. Here are two more. Unedited shown at 100 and 200% Again, look at the sharpness of the image, especially the hair and skin. I can't help but notice the difference in the histogram as well. Perhaps there is some "auto adjusting" happening on import though I am pretty sure I have disabled that where I could. I am not pleased with the sharpening results. I am a bit fan of dumping Adobe, but not if this is the quality of results I get. Buuuut, Adobe will "give" me free software if I upload and sell a certain amount on their stock contributor site. :-)
  3. Understood, but let's just look at the sharpness of the image. That has nothing to do with any color adjustments I might have made...which were minimal at the time I did this screenshot. EDIT: Additionally, I did not take any steps. I just opened them up and this is the result.
  4. Personally, I have been having a hard time accepting AP as a replacement for PS. There is a performance issue and quality issue. I have attached a side-by-side example of a NEF image taken with my D750, both zoomed too 100% . The image were processed similarly, or as best I could. You can PS did a much better job, especially in regards to sharpeness. Has anyone else done this comparison? If so, what were your results?
  5. I have this issue as well, though I am on a mac. The solutions mentioned here are similar to the approach I have taken, though they have not resolved the issue. Any thoughts mac users?
  6. Sorry, details help. affinity designer, latest iOS (11.4.1), any format. The Share > Save Image option save to Photos.
  7. Export > Share > Save Image This action consistently causes the app to crash on my iPad Pro. Thoughts?
  8. Ah, ok. Thank you Sean. Other than that small issues, GREAT app! Lov’n it. Good job guys.
  9. Affinity Designer for iPad, if I add guides in the Vector Personna, all is good. But, when I switch over to the Pixel Personna the guides do not show for any tool but the Move Tool. Is this a bug? Edit: They also seem to disappear when drawing in the Vector Personna, which kind of make them pointless.
  10. While using the Pencil Tool in AD for iPad, is there a way to change a setting to automatically close a path, where the nodes of end and beginning of the that path join. Or will I have to switch to Node Tool and close each of them manually?
  11. Wow, nice job guys. I guess I will give the Flood tool a try and just keep at it until I get things figured out. Thank you for your help and patience. BTW, this is what I am working on. I chose to remove the wind vane; it didn't fit with the theme.
  12. If you want you can try with the original. As mention, I used small and large brushes and zoomed in over 1200%.
  13. Sorry, I guess we need some context here. (It's been a long day). What you are seeing is the results of the selection placed on a grey background. In this post, I am attaching a new image with a green background for AP and yellow for PP. Please notice the "messiness" of the selection in AP. It can especially be seen in the detail image on the right. As far as the tools and process. I used the Selection Brush Tool, then zooming in and out and changing the size of the brush, I go around the entire area doing the best I can before I go into Refine mode. I start the process over again in the Refine mode. The results are what you see in the attached. All of this in and out and refining is all but nonexistant in Pixelmator Pro, and as you can see the results are night and day. If you haven't tried it yet, you should.
  14. Does anyone else have difficulty with the selection brush tool(s)? The videos show how easy it is yet I cannot get a clean selection unless I use the Freehand Selection tool or spend a crazy amount of time the "Refine" process. See the attached image. I have compared it to Pixelmator Pro, which is SO much better, and faster, though of course, it has its many limitations.
  15. Well, back to my original post. If other programs can read ai better, or maybe I should say "more reliably", then perhaps Affinity could add that to their list of improvements. :-)
  16. As predicted (on my end anyway), AD does recognize layers but not grouping. CorelDRAW does recognize both.
  17. I did something similar, creating groups of circles. On one layer, in one group I have a group within a group. When I open in AD, there are no groupings.
  18. The result is the same whether it's the native ai or pdf. So, you are saying that CorelDRAW accesses data the AD does not?
  19. I know what you are saying, and that makes sense, however when I open the same files in CorelDRAW the grouped object are maintained.
  20. When opening Adobe Illustrator files that contain grouped objects, those object are not grouped when opening in AD as they are in Illustrator. There are groups, but they seem to be random. Is this normal behavior of AD? If so, will there be a fix in the future?
  21. I have been in CorelDRAW this week and have been playing with their export function as Adobe Illustrator. They do a pretty good job and gives you the option as to what version of Illy you want to export to, up to CS6. So, I thought Affinity couldn't add that functionality because of some licensing issues with Adobe. Is that not the case? Corel seems to be doing it. hmmm?
  22. I can't stop watching. This is fantastic looking.
