euronesia got a reaction from JohnM in Publisher V2 - Fillable forms & page copying.
I've been using Publisher for a while and love it how light it is comparing to similar competitors and how much heavy load it can handle.
But I was expecting some other updates such as ability to copy paste pages between two open project as well exporting to interactive fillable forms pdf files... well, hopefully something like that comes in before V3.

euronesia reacted to loukash in Export Persona slices not aligned properly.
To export clean bitmap objects without antialiasing artefacts or those extra 1px outlines, everything must be aligned to the document pixel grid and everything must be integer pixel values.
The document pixel grid begins at the left-most page/canvas/artboard's top left corner (or base box if it's a non-rectangular artboard), and is absolute, no matter what each other page/artboard rulers tell you (they lie!). So if you want integer pixel position in all artboards, the artboards themselves must be aligned to the absolute pixel grid as well
The Transform panel may also lie to you unless you set Preferences > User Interface > Decimal Places > Pixel to "6": Even with 1 decimal place set, if the actual value is e.g. 0.049 px, it will round down the display (but not the position!) to "0".
Last but not least, whenever you intend to export to bitmap formats where antialiasing matters, always work in the View > View Mode > Pixels mode. Because the Vector mode will lie to you as well.
That all is not necessarily a "bug", it's essentially "programmed by design". In other words, the concept of how Affinity alignes objects to integer pixels is flawed in the sense that it's not instantly obvious, and that the corresponding workflows are not intuitive. I.e. if you're not aware of it, you can only find out by trial and error because it's not properly documented or explained.

euronesia got a reaction from firstdefence in Affinity Photo Masking a selection on Bigger size layer then project dimensions.
Thank you @firstdefence Actually that's a good idea,
That also did the trick I needed, Used the layer image inside the rectangle selected the area needed and created the mask using mask icon, and I can still preserve the original layer size.
Still too many steps to achieve it but If there's no other way I guess that's the workaround to do it in Affinity Photo.

euronesia got a reaction from SKT7 in Affinity Designer V2 complete update list.
I was wondering if anyone can point me to the link to see detailed updates or change-log of V2?
New features are great and well exposed but I believe there are other small features changes and updates as well bug fixes, but I just can't seem to find the complete list of updates.

euronesia reacted to David Gill in Pricing?
When you compare Serif to other software companies, most release new versions on a yearly basis with a few tweaked upgrades to try and bait customers to pay an upgrade price. I see this with Corel for example, every year they do this, with all their software. Whereas Serif has given free upgrades for 8 years, and now, with some significant upgrades they've not only offered a 40% discount to everyone, but they offer the Suite of 3 apps at even lower price than if you bought each one individually. On top of that, you can use each of the 3 apps on 3 different devices for one bulk price. Personally I see Serif as company worthy of paying the price, I want them to keep feeding the art community tools to work at a reasonable price. On top of that, they've shown themselves to be very generous over the past few years selling their software at 50% price points during covid - which is what got me hooked on their software. I'd be considered a newer customer, I think I've only used it for a year and a half and I don't mind paying the price for the latest version of Affinity. Keep in mind too, there aren't just key new features that have been added, they made some vast improvements to current features, such as fantastic upgrades to the layers panel. I'm sure there's much more to explore!

euronesia got a reaction from thedivclass in Affinity V2 Suite - finally aligning object update as well.
So happy with the V2 update!
Designer, not only warp and shape builder I was waiting for... but aligning objects to other objects just by holding options helps speed things up so much, and it works all on other apps, photo & pubilsher...
There are some minor general features I was expecting but next time on that, it hasn't been 24 hours yet.. I'm so happy on this update.
Great job Affinity

euronesia got a reaction from Dan C in Designer Actual Size - Displaying Incorrectly AD 1.10.5
UPDATE:
@Dan CSo far after switching off "Enable Metal Compute acceleration" then switching it back on again, Actual Size display works properly.
These last tree days using Designer has no issues with Actual Size.

euronesia got a reaction from AnthonyMW in "Save failed because the file could not be written to." - Affinity Designer
I just experienced this error again as well. Also "save as" produced 0 byte file, but apparently the original project file still had data and when I opened it, it had it's last changes. So I tried again and it's been working fine. But having this error puts me at risk on losing the whole project file.
In my case, I had 15 Arboards in one project file, on each artboard I imported another 1 paged Affinity Designer project file. So when I need to modify I just double click it. It really loosens my workflow on my old machine running Mojave and helps me work faster and organized. All files are stored on external drive connected through USB port.
This is really dangerous, I stopped using this technique in Affinity Designer because of this problem when I was running on High Sierra, now since I installed Mojave I decided to give it another go... but apparently the error still appears.
Any chance on stability update on this problem?

euronesia reacted to lukasoppermann in Duplicate Layer in Layer Panel by option / cmd + drag
I know that I can duplicate a layer by cmd + drag.
However this does not seem to work in the players panel. This is a very handy feature in illustrator as it allows to duplicate a layer without moving it and immediatly changing the order of it.
I know I can cmd + j do duplicate and move it afterwards, but since this is a very often used thing, it makes working quite annoying.
Please add this.

euronesia reacted to walt.farrell in Subtract not working as expected
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums.
Check the Fill Mode of the larger (lower) shape, Layer > Fill Mode. You may find it is set to Winding (Non-Zero) rather than Alternate (Even-Odd). If so, change it. Or, change the Fill Mode of the result.

Hi @Dan C,
Unfortunately I can't send over the current project file because of its design confidentiality, but I'm able to replicate the issue with the file I uploaded on the dropbox link.
Please check it out.
Cheers
