photos never load
in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

I just purchased and installed Photo and it won't open any files; it says "Loading 1 document..." but it doesn't load. After 20 minutes I have to close the program using Task Manager.
Is it a bug or am I just missing something?
