Same question, but to add. How did Affinity manage to make simple saving and renaming operations so utterly unintuitive? Please take a hard look at this Affinity. This software is a chore to use because you've made this awkward for no good reason.

I have the exact same issue. I contacted them via twitter, no response. I contacted Apple, they just told me to talk to Affinity. I found a phone number on their site, but when you call, it takes you through their menu, then when you select to speak to a support department, it just tells you they're closed and hangs up on you Have to say, this is pretty shoddy behaviour. So I'm £90 down and don't have anything to show for it. Software isn't activated, doesn't work and now I can't work until this is resolved. Thanks a ****** bunch! 🤬

Thanks guys. :) I confess I forgot to edit the fx on the lume pip. It wouldn't be shadowed like that. lol

Hey guys. I'm loving Affinity Designer and Photo and switched over as my Adobe subscription ran out around Affinity's release day. I am participating in the betas and am really impressed with the team's work and engagement with users. I am currently working on a watch project in WatchUSeek's F71 (Affordables) forum and this is the result. An homage to the vintage and modern Seamasters and James Bond, we are partnering with Lew and Huey watch co to have this made into a real watch! This has been my first full project rendered completely in Affinity apps and am now not pining for AI, or PS in any way. lol :D

Affinity Designer Customer Beta (1.3.5.5)

Thank you for the tip! That's helped a lot for raster exports! :D RE Personal Question: Yes, I am. :) -

Hi Matt, I sent files in relation to the previous beta. Will send files saved under this beta and thanks for looking into this. :) -

PDF/EPS/SVG export still insanely slow. At least the blue progress bar is back. lol -

Affinity Designer Customer Beta (1.3.5.4)

GUI problem: if the program is open for a while, dropdown menu elements disappear behind their panels and you can't click them! Have to save, quit and restart the app. -

Hello, Still having huge difficulty with exports. Every export is slow. PDF/SVG/EPS files take 5-15 minutes to export and are generally faulty in some way. Raster format exports are okay, but taking significantly longer than expected. Blue progress bar doesn't show. Sent files to support. -

Is it just me, or is it really slow to export JPG, PNG, etc, now? Also crashes when I try to export PDF/EPS/SVG or at least takes significantly long that it seems to have crashed. -
Affinity Designer Customer Beta (1.3.5.3)
synaptyx replied to MattP's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on macOS threads
Thanks for prompting me to use the beta, Meb! Love that I can adjust, hide and show the rotation centre as needed, now! :) And no more object add problems. -
Can someone explain to me why, when I select a group of perfectly aligned objects, the selection box decides to be rotated at 2.4º, even though all the selected objects inside are at 0º!? Help, this is driving me insane! I have tried resetting the selection box. This works, but I have to do it every time, the setting does not stick. I have tried to reset defaults, but that did nothing for this problem.

Turn off antialiasing
synaptyx replied to Ethernaut's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
The thing is, when I'm designing, I don't want to have to be setting this attribute on every object I draw, I mean that's just nuts! I want to get on with the job of designing and drawing and export to hard edged pixels when I need to. The level of detail anti-aliasing control is wonderful for people who are designing pixel-based designs from the get go. My purpose is to create clean edged designs with strict colour counts for screen-printing with the caveat, that the designs may be printed with anti-aliasing as well depending on the product and method of printing required. Thanks for reading and taking on board all my comments and niggles. It may not sound like it, but I love Affinity and am looking forward to updates and upgrades! :)- 65 replies

Turn off antialiasing
synaptyx replied to Ethernaut's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
As you can see, it's not working on this stroked object - the only way for it to work is to select Draw behind Fill on the stroke panel and that's not always appropriate for the object and design.- 65 replies

Sorry if I'm not explaining myself properly. Here are some screengrabs. This one is inside stroked text. The red pixels outside should not be showing.- 65 replies

Turn off antialiasing
synaptyx replied to Ethernaut's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
Hi Meb, thanks! That works... Kind of/sort of. It doesn't apply to objects in groups. And it doesn't work on stroked objects, randomly. While the coverage map is a great feature, it seems to need a bit of work and I feel there needs to be a simple global export with no anti-aliasing option. *The stroke thing: I mean that on a stroked object with the stroke aligned to the inside the colour of the stroked object peeks out behind the stroke when the anti-aliasing is turned off, but that could be that I don't know what I'm doing with the curve - lol *Noticed that it doesn't apply to masks either. You have to do all these things separately as individual objects.- 65 replies

Turn off antialiasing
synaptyx replied to Ethernaut's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
And that also means that with every existing .ai file I have I can't export any of them from AD without anti-aliasing, or going through every layer, group and object. That's just not doable. :(- 65 replies

Turn off antialiasing

Thanks Ethernaut, I hope it's fixed soon. I really need this functionality. I'm not sure what else to do at the moment, I wasn't expecting to have to set this for every object when in PS/AI all I did was import an .ai file to PS with Anti-aliasing unchecked.- 65 replies

New anti aliasing feature
synaptyx replied to philippgfx's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on macOS threads
Sorry to post in multiple threads, but I really need to apply this feature to a whole design for export. The design is for print and it can't have anti-aliasing in it at the point it's exported to PNG. There are hundreds of layers groups and objects. In AI and PS all I used to do was import the design AI file into PS and uncheck the anti-aliasing option. I can't find a way to replicate that behaviour in Affinity Photo or Designer.
