  1. Hi Nathan, 'Protect Alpha' is unticked and blend mode is set to normal. Interestingly since I posted I tried the 'Colour Replacement Brush Tool' with both black and white and this behaves as I would expect the regular brush tool to behave when using black or white on a Mask Layer. My client is using this method for now, but I remain confused as to why the regular Brush tool sometimes functions on the Mask Layer and then doesn't function! Thanks
  2. Hi All, Having convinced a client to ditch Adobe Photoshop for Affinity, I am having trouble getting my client's Mask Layer to function consistently as required. We are working on a greyscale file of graphic line images scanned as tiffs, with a Mask Layer to simply remove sections of a graphic element non-destructively. We create 'New Mask Layer' and then remove the child Mask Layer to sit above the Layer we would like to visually remove areas from. Sometimes this will function as desired by using the Brush to paint black to remove and white to reinstate, but then for no apparent reason this behaviour stops functioning. The only remedy I can find is to use the Erase Brush Tool to remove and the Colour Replacement Brush Tool to reinstate on the Mask Layer. It feels like a bug to me, does anyone have a solution? Thanks, Robin
  3. Hi Walt, Thank you so much, this is exactly what I was trying to achieve and retains the original resolution. Perfect and by far the quickest technique. Thanks again.
  4. My client is supplying 400dpi tiff scans with multiple items that need to be seperated and itemised for a library which will eventually be combined to create final artworks. Copy and paste seems to be the quickest way of achieving this? I have tried cropping and exporting but with multiple items this is time-consuming.
  5. Hi All, I am working with 400dpi tiff scans and I need to create a library of items to combine into a final 400dpi artwork. When I copy and create 'New From Clipboard' the resolution changes from 400dpi to 96dpi, is the best solution to: 'Resize Document…' to 400dpi with the 'Resample' checkbox unticked? Thanks
