Hi All,
Having convinced a client to ditch Adobe Photoshop for Affinity, I am having trouble getting my client's Mask Layer to function consistently as required.
We are working on a greyscale file of graphic line images scanned as tiffs, with a Mask Layer to simply remove sections of a graphic element non-destructively.
We create 'New Mask Layer' and then remove the child Mask Layer to sit above the Layer we would like to visually remove areas from. Sometimes this will function as desired by using the Brush to paint black to remove and white to reinstate, but then for no apparent reason this behaviour stops functioning.
The only remedy I can find is to use the Erase Brush Tool to remove and the Colour Replacement Brush Tool to reinstate on the Mask Layer.
It feels like a bug to me, does anyone have a solution?
Thanks,
Robin
