Add the source to the Sources panel just once. In the destination document, whenever you want to pick another location of the source, just double-click the thumbnail in the Sources panel to view the source. Then when you opt/alt-click a new location in the source, the destination will be displayed again.

ok thanks. I was also getting hung up on what kind of clicking to do & what keys to use with what kind of clicking. the program kept showing me what keys to use but I didn't recognize one of the symbols it was showing. you writing out "opt/alt-click" might be very helpful. also the other thing you wrote

  2. THANK YOU!

I was going to ask about side-by-side next. but I need to grasp the basics first. can I just add the source image just once & keep going back & forth? with a family group photo, there will be several sets of eyes, or smiles that I'll need to clone over to my final image. or do I have to add that source image again & again for each face I'm working on. I think what you wrote about making your video, is that no, I only have to add that source image once. correct?

I'll muck around w/ my test images later when I get a chance. my darn job keeps getting in the way of my playing ... JK, yuk, yuk (I'm blessed to have a job!)

great video, BTW. can you add audio? I need all the help I can get!

  3. I want to clone open eyes or smiles from one photo to another. For example with family group photos. I take several photos then try to clone eyes, smiles or entire faces, so that I have one good one to print. I've been using Photoshop 7 on a Windows computer. It's VERY FAST & EASY, no "layers" required. I just open the 2 photos. Select an eye in one photo then go to the other photo & start cloning that eye. Easy peasy. But with Affinity Photo it seems much more complicated. I'm getting confused about the source panel & the clicking / selecting between the 2 photos. I've watched 2 videos I've found on the forum but they just aren't doing it for me. Can anyone explain it to me like I'm 6?  My apologies for my not getting it yet & many thanks in advance! ;-) ;-)
