Hi all and thanks for your responses. Sorry for not getting back sooner but I've had a busy run and didn't have time to try sorting this out. Just got back to it today. I downloaded with another PC - transferred to USB and ran the Install Exe from the USB. Oddly - it didn't install when I first tried it. However, I made a 2nd attempt and it installed!!! 🙂 So all good now. Thanks again for ye're help. Best Regards, EoinMc

Tried that suggestion stokerg. Went into Edge Settings and turned off Microsoft Defender but I'm still getting the same result. The installer downloads no problem. When I try to open the Installer I'm getting the following message (see Attachment Microsoft Defender 1). I'm getting this even with the Defender switched off??? I'm offered the option to 'Run Anyway' (see Attachment Micro Defender 2). That's when I get the error message. (see Attachment Error Message Affinity)

Thanks stokerg, Just downloaded exe. from Dropbox via your link. I'm afraid I'm getting the same result. First from Windows Defender and then an error message when I attempt to 'run anyway'. I'm wondering if its some sort of security blocker or something that I need to switch off to install?

Thanks for your reply Joachim. Tried downloading it via Google/Ecosia and M Edge. The initial message I get is by 'Microsoft Defender Smartscreen' - whatever that is? You can choose to 'Run Anyway' and that's when I get the message about the side by side configuration. Have deleted and re-downloaded several times. No joy Regards, EoinMc

Hi Guys, Purchased Affinity Publisher today. Have downloaded the install exe. but when I click the icon I get this message - 'The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.'- I'm no computer expert and have no idea what this even means? Re-downloaded but no joy. I assume I purchased the right software for Windows 10 desktop Thanks
