MBd, following your instructions I managed to do what I needed and expanded on your explanation this way: 1. Select layer with the image you want to create channel mask from 2. In the Channels panel select the "BACKGROUND" Red, Green or Blue channel which is the best for your mask 3. Right click and select Create Greyscale Layer 4. On top of that create a Curves Adjustment Layer 5. Adjust curve to your liking 6. Merge Curves Adjustment Layer with the Mask Layer 7. Rasterize To Mask the resulting merged pixel layer 8. Rename the layer 9. Create whatever Adjustment Layer you need 10. Make the Rasterized to Mask layer you created, a child of the new Adjustment Layer 11. Depending on what you want to modify you will leave as is or Invert. Second time you've led me in the right direction MBd! Much obliged! All the best! Paco www.pacomarquez.com

Hi! How can I apply a curve adjustment to a Spare Channel? For example, if I have an aerial shot where I'm shooting down into a field of green which has white clouds in the foreground, I create Spare Channel from the Red one. This will give me a starting point where the clouds are very white and the green fields different shades of dark grey. I would then like to apply curves to that Spare Channel so the greys will go almost black and the whites as white as possible. This will result in a mask which, when inverted, will allow modifications to the green fields without affecting the white clouds. Thanks in advance for any help with this. Paco www.pacomarquez.com

Locking layers so that warping one would also affect another would be very helpful. I photograph a lot of fast food and need to have the food in a layer and its shadow in another one. More often than not I have to use the warp tool and it is a lot faster to do both layers at the same time than separately. I asked about this in the Forums and was given the solution to record the warp as a Macro and then run it on the other layers which is a valid solution but locking layers so the warp could work on both simultaneously would be more efficient. Just a bit of background... after having used PS pretty much since its begining, I am learning how to use Photo and like it very much. Congratulations on such an achievement and please keep up the excellent work. Thanks for your time and all the best! Paco www.pacomarquez.com

Hi to all! I've been a professional photog for over 30 years and shoot exclusively work for advertising. First image editing software I used and really loved was Live Picture but after it came to an end, like everyone else, I used PS. I'm now eager to learn how to use Affinity. You may see what type of work we do at www.pacomarquez.com.
