  1. Thank you for your response. Is there a different tool then that will lock the layer transparent pixels?
  2. I'm totally new to this. Years later. Alpha Protect works however it locks the whole thing. In PS in locks only the selected layer. In Aff, if I click Protect Alpha, I can't paint anymore???
  3. This could have totally been done in designer. I also got both at half price. My tablet is this one Wacom Intuos Wireless Graphics Drawing Tablet with Bonus Software Included, 10.4" X 7.8", Black (CTL6100WLK0)
  4. @sacboi wow thank you but I'm not that good yet lol. I use a wacom tablet. Still working on my eye/hand coordination but slowly improving. I used a reference image, drew the outlines, then filed it in with colors. My drawing is one layer, the colouring is another layer and the background is another layer. That's the beauty of digital painting. The mixing of the colour is simply how much pressure I put on the tablet while drawing/ painting. There are paint mixer brush tools in affinity. Can't think of the name off the top my head. I'm new at this too. It'll help with blending your colours. Brush wise I used a few under the acrylic brush tab. Can't remember now because I was trying them out. Hope this helps. There are a few good videos online. Go on you tube and search painting with affinity photo.
  5. @sacboi thank you. Yes, some acrylic, oil painting experience.
  6. My first digital painting all in Affinity. Made it yesterday for May the 4th be with you. Not perfect but I'm excited.
  7. I watched a tutorial in Photoshop and I'm trying to do it in Affinity Photo. So they created a layer, then a shape with ie selection tool. then filled it with a colour. Then click on this lock function. the selection became deselected and then could just go back within the shape they created to paint without spilling over the edge. How do I do that??? the lock in Affinity is not the same. thanks in advance
