  1. Andy, many thanks! Q: Must I uninstall the previous beta first? How to uninstall the previous beta? Many thanks for help in advance! :D
  2. How can I change the far to big liquify tool in the "Photos Extension" of Affinity Photo? Appreciate any reply! :)
  3. Hi MEB Right at the moment, I realised the mistake I made: it works only with the Pen and Pencil but not with the Vector Brush. I used the Vector Brush first. Many thanks for super fast reply! Problem solved. :)
  4. I am using Magic Trackpad. But you can not really use the trackpads pressure functionality. For that, I I followed exactly https://vimeo.com/111534016, but if I try to modify stroke width as shown in video, I can drag the points and lines in the pressure profile as I want to: absolutely nothing happens to my line... Would really appreciate any help... Cheers, Roland
  5. Finale Ligure is ahead. Yesssss...!!! :D

  6. Hi I'm Roland. Made April 14th 1964. After an apprentice as draftsman, I studied Mechanical Engineering and graduated M.Sc., followed by a post graduation as Industrial Engineer. Getting in touch with one of the first PCs in the company I made my apprentice (1980-84), I became computer addict at once. Along with my official graduation I became an autodidact nerd and was developing software for a leading industry brand in Liechtenstein for 10 years in Pascal, C and Fortran. Yes, of course I added meanwhile Swift 2 :D (if you have old Pascal, C or Fortran code to be translated into Swift 2, do not hesitate to contact me). There, I was also responsible as "one man show" for the Novell network (in the early 90's no problem: you could focus 95% on your origin profession for compliance "and so" only 5% were necessary, today it's flipped: 95% are blown up to handle boring compliance and only 5% left to do what you're originally hired for) and became interested in system administration. So, - also autodidact - I became a Unix nerd and moved into a major Bank as sysadmin for Solaris, AIX and several Linux distributions, being responsible as specially for the trading systems, hold mail and letter of credit applications. In 2005 Multiple Sclerosis was diagnosed, but don't panic, this is no problem, if I feel an episode is ahead, I get on the mountain bike - doing a good mix of condition, power and balance workouts - and after one hour or two, all problems are fixed, the damages in the CNS are bypassed and I can get back to office without need to swallow the poison (available drugs only suppress the symptoms but do not heal) pharmaceutical giants and doctors want you to. Brain can help itself. Unfortunately no major company in Liechtenstein accepts to make your turns on the bike if it's needed, so, I decided to quit and start up my own business with www.pipobike.com. Because I also want to work if I have no guests, I was looking for diversification, making so much fun to me, I could work 24 hrs on it. No problem: Since being a child, I was all of my life addicted to art, photography an film making. With Affinity Designer and Photo I got now the tools of my dreams and I already very deep dived into this both products. So, I am now also freelancing and recommend myself for photo retouching and transferring your sketches into Designer. Orders welcome :). Also translations Technical English <==> Technical German: based on my former jobs, I have 35 years of experience, it makes no sense to waste this knowledge. Glad to meet all! Cheers, Roland  :)
  7. Hi MEB, thanks for reply. Sad to hear, that Serif will discontinue also the Windows version of WebPlus (if I understood you correctly). I yet found no other homepage editor offering such a overwhelming list of functions at an incredible competitive price like shown here http://www.serif.com/webplus/x8/overview/at bottom of page (comparison list). Unfortunately I heard for the first time about Serif due to the Affinity product line in AppStore. If I only knew earlier (long time ago: I once was also PC user), I would have been a WebPlus customer since years. Best regards, Roland
  8. Hi MEB, thanks for reply. Before I install Parallels (iMac 27" 5K, 1 TB SSD, 16 GB RAM, M395X 4GB): - how performant will it run under Windows 7 (32 bit) emulation? - Is WebPlus X8 about to be discontinued or not? CU, Roland
  9. AD & AP: The "Bitmap" fill type option is only availabe if Gradient tool is activated. If it's possible and convenient with the Serif software design concept, please add this also directly to the Fill and Contour option of Text tool. I once used it with the Gradient tool "accidentially" correct, but it's over two weeks ago and I could not recall from brain (or whatever there is) - I was searching for over an hour...   Cheers (time 4 a beer :P), Roland
  10. Please forgive me this question here in the forum, because it's a little bit off topic here. Is WebPlus X8 (or successor) planned for Mac? Will purchase immediately...
  11. Hi Jimmy and Lee Many thanks for your suggestion, they helped :D Always ask the evangelists ;) The 51% opacity is the hint. How could you know? Didn't find this documented... The "Selection from Pixel Layer" helped also. :) OK, not all functions are available as button ;) And thanks for the hint with the straight edges. The best 5K screen does not help, if I do not read  Sitting to long in front of screen I got puzzled... Thanks once more!
  12. Hi Lee Ich have only Mouse or Track Pad. Unfortunately no Tablet. Also with Tablet the usage of free hand is almost impossible. I attached the original. Good luck with the Freehand tool on the spokes in the meadow section ;)
  13. How can you click the Selection button on a group of polygons? Please see the snap shot attachment. My AP version is 1.4.1. Polygon Group also attached. Polygon Group.zip
  14. I should mask a fine structure and it is only possible to select this lines properly by help of the pen. The problem: 1. As soon as I draw a second spoke, and click the Selection button, the 1st selection will be deleted. 2. If I do all my pen drawings and group them, the Selection button can not be used on the group. Is there a hidden function I didn't discover yet? I tried already Shift, Alt and Cmd + Selection button, unfortunately no one has an "Add" effect... With this background, it's impossible to use the existing selection tools for usable results. (Is it?) I really would appreciate any help. Cheers, Roland
  15. Stacking Object Removal is already an amazing function in Affinity Photo. For complex objects in front it would be an extremely advantage, to have also the opposite. A demo what I mean shown with a not so complex object: 1. Background 2. Background and Object 3. After AP enhanced by new feature "Stacking Background Removal": Add this and PS is doomed. ;) Best regards, Roland
  16. Hi MBd, many thanks for you help. Unfortunately, I am now more confused than before (last but not least missing the photos mentioned in your links above). Does it generally mean, it's yet not possible? Last night, I have been trying all night long to develop a workflow over miscellaneous masking procedures. But I don't have a satisfying result yet... Even if I get at good B&W result, there is still a lot of work left with the selection tools to get a convenient mask. I start with: from the stack with and apply Results in This will make use of selection brush easy, after using selection brush, I have a good mask to knock off the chair: Doing studio shootings it's no problem to use the tools like Selection Brush, because you have a defined background (White / Green screen, what ever...). But for outdoor and hand held, a kind of opposite function of "Stack: Object Removal" would be extremely helpful getting the object out of pictures like: => I want the bike knocked off, not the background. Like the example with the chair above. Of course this two hand held pics are not sufficient - even not for a good result using "Stacking: Object Removal". I just added them, because they show quite good the typical situation where it may be used - because knock off the bike with the standard selection and refining tools is a little bit a Sisyphus work with this complex background. As far as I know, PS has also no such function. Cheers, Roland
  17. Tackle down object in foreground (the lamp) by stacking works fine. With only two pictures, the bike light has almost completely been removed. Hot to do the opposite? I tried 1000 things, but now I am running out of ideas. Pictures are originally raw, but size is to big to upload here. The result is not as perfect with the jpg's, but still ok. Foreground: Background: The pictures are shot on tripod, so for stacking no Auto nor Live are necessary: Any suggestions, how I can remove the BACKground with stacking? Any help appreciated! :) Cheers, Roland
  18. Hi Community May be this is the wrong forum section to post. Because it's somehow not really a bug, I post it here. Please forgive me if it's the wrong Forum section. 1. Start AP 2. File -> Open -> Media 3. I may only select "Photos" there, I think this is normal. Now for the problem: If I use a "Filter" like "Today" (in the screen shot it's applied as "Heute" in the Spotlight field), even after 7 minutes or so, no photos are listet. With the filter, the "Please wait" indicator is spinning forever: But it should show (manually selection): # of Photos in Library: 27'461 Off topic: And yes, I know, Photos is not worth talking about it. But Apple has unfortunately discontinued iPhoto and Aperture :( And I have yet not found another piece of Software, able to read out the DB of iPhoto and Aperture and adapt it into it's own one, handling everything folder based (including renaming a folder automatically if you rename event or album etc. the piece of Software should offer). Suggestions welcome. Best regards, Roland
  19. JimmyJack: cool, almost perfect. Wow, you had to apply "one or two" filters and layers. How many minutes may such a work take? Do you work with a Tablet or Mouse and/or Touchpad? If tablet: which one can you recommend to me? I am asking this, because e. g. the edges to the shadow lower left of sleve are very precise
  20. Madame Cool, this really helped. I am just playing around, the result will become almost perfect! :D 1000 thanks to all! Cheers, Roland
  21. JimmyJack, Thanks for reply! :) I am not afraid of doing the work myself. But as newbie, often the one or other hint helps. LOL: Somehow I had a "pre-awareness" getting a reply like of yours ;), because I already assumed, it's not so easy. However, doing this "not one magic button" stuff will increase my Affinity Photo knowledge dramatically ;) Advantage knowledge :D CU Roland
  22. Hi barninga and crabtem, many thanks for your help! I am trying to reproduce the techniques you suggested. For me as newbie the most difficult part is the "how" to do this what you have been suggesting: learning by examples. It would be very helpful if you can send me a .afphoto file showing it. This really would help me out of mess. ;)
  23. Barninga, thanks for the hints. Q: You made this with the "Paint Brush Tool" and painted just over it, did you? This will unfortunately wipe out the original structure/texture of the jacket. I am trying to find a solution just replacing the colour. Many thanks for your reply. :) CU, Roland
