NGK22

When I add to a previous line with the pen too it does this annoying corner thing as seen in the photo. I cant figure out how to make it not do this. why would anyone want this anyways? I want one continuous line. This is very frustrating. I recently switched from adobe and I don't think this is a thing in adobe software. Can someone tell me why this corner thing happens and how to make it not do this?
