THANK YOU!! That solved the problem.

Update: Restarting the program does not help; however, using the Artistic Text tool in a different document acts normal as it should. So there is something wrong in my document. Any ideas?

Even if I just click, I have the same issues. All the settings are still wonky. It's all smushed together.

In Affinity Designer my regular text box is working just fine, but when I try to drag out an Artistic Text box, a few things go wonky. I'm sure I've got a few settings messed up somewhere, but I can not figure out what or where. Please help. Video attached. Explanation below. So, when I try to drag out the Artistic Text box it will really only grow vertically. It seems like the horizontal is locked. Then, when I start typing, it's automatically in all caps and when I change it to normal case all of the lower case letters get sent to the front of the box past the capital letter at the beginning (see video).
