  1. Thank you so much! Also, could you remove the hand image only in your post? It's my client's work, and I wanna send people to this forum; your advice was brilliant.
  2. I am happy to report there is hope to save some Corrupt Files, this worked for me thanks to you! I opened Affinity Publisher > New Document > Document > Add Pages from File > Select Corrupt File All the layers become visible in Affinity Publisher and thus can be passed into a new Affinity Designer document I saved it and it worked. Sure I have to copy n' paste 1 Layer by one or small Layer selections. But the file is not lost. I passed some chunks from top to down. If the selection does NOT include corrupt layers they will pass well If the Layers selected include bad Layers this will be pasted instead and will need to systematically check 1 by 1 which one is bad. I narrowed it down to 2 layers that didn't allow me to pass and left them behind. But the rest of my hundreds of layers are restored!!! Mission Complete! Thank you so much for the information!!! -P.S. LESSON LEARNED; I WILL HAVE A DUPLICATE BACK UP OF ALL FILES FROM NOW ON XD
  3. Thank you so much for the prompt reply. So it is lost... Well, we tried. I have Affinity Publisher V1, but I have not yet learned to use it. If I understood correctly, I could open it in Publisher as you have (''as another page'')? I feel, so long as I can open it somewhere and interact with the layers, perhaps I could systematically paste some layers into a new file I could save... right? - again, thank you for your time.
  4. Oh I'm sorry, I'll elaborate. I used Windows 10, Now 11. I see, so they made it that way to resemble the iOS version? I was sad because I could already delete a Curve another way and also add nodes, all in one. Made the work very smooth for my custom hotkeys without having to switch tools. I made 2 Nodes. These options appear when I hover over the Curve while holding ctrl. I think the software is just as confused as I am... Indeed, Clicking deletes the curve when holding ctrl, and clicking just makes a new curve with a new node... But clicking on it with the Node Tool, same instructions, ''Click to create a new node ON the curve'', adds a node on the curve. I'd be fine if there was a way to customize the keyboard commands but... not for this as far as I know. So I guess I'm just forced to hotkey-switch tools : (
  5. I heard in multiple forums you guys might be able to help? It's a work file I manage for a customer and thought Affinity had Saved Snapshots of previews file versions but.. apparently not? If it's possible to recover it, it'll be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your hard work, I love this software so much! 1. Which Operating System are you using? Windows 11 Which version of Affinity did the file last get saved in? Affinity Designer V1 What drive type was the file last saved to (select more than one if needed)? External SSD 4. Any other information you think would help us try to find the problem? My last move on the file was to add a PDF and save. As I shut the computer down Windows also made an update, don't remember if the file finished saving but I assumed so. Next day it's corrupted.
  6. Hello, Ever since the update, when using the Pen Tool I can't place new nodes in between lines (Pentool: ctrl + Click), instead, the function now deletes the line I click. When I use the Node Tool it works once more as intended, hovering over a line would let me add a node. I followed MEB's Tutorial link ''For version 1.8 upwards they are available directly through Affinity's website (Learn section).'' And Pentool + ctrl should indeed shift me to the Node Tool. And, while the white arrow tip icon resembles it, the function is different. I can't find ways to re-customize this function, and I have uninstalled it and re-installed it, functionally resetting any custom options... so... Am I missing something? Please let me know. Thank you for all your hard work and service, Affinity is certainly a marble. P.S. (Out of curiosity... Is there way to make curves or shapes out of selections? Or a Magnetic Pen mode? Features like that could surely be outstanding to have)
