designer and publisher won’t open on new M1 Mac

Hi, first of all I love your products! Using them on my older mac still. Just bought a M1 Mac running big sur. Created a new account via affinity website so I can try and buy the new versions for this second mac. All 3 trial versions (1.9.3 per .dmg naming) downloaded from the site are halting at the start screen. There is no load indicator on it as well. There's no crash - just doesn't move past it. Can someone help please? Thank you in advance!
