To deselect all layers you can use the menu (Select > Deselect Layers) as mentioned, but another way is to select only one layer and next Ctrl+D plus click on the name (not the thumbnail) of this layer.

The joke! Affinity Photo is sometime better than Photoshop, sometime as good as Photoshop and sometime less good than Photoshop, but it's look a real competitor.

Yeah Photoshop sucks for having become a service as a product thing but at least they still develop and evolve.
This thread has been open for 6 years, constantly active and totally reasonable as a feature request
and its the second feature that I've basically been waiting on for years to at some point be integrated.
It feels like they made Photo and Designer six years ago and ever since just fixed a few bugs
while competitors kept improving their products
These days there is a lot of free or cheap one time payment editing software and I feel like
Affinity has had its peak days long agoSeveral bugs still exist in Photoshop, versions after versions. The best service in Adobe company is the marketing... Long life to Affinity!

As many freelance that make websites , I do the job of developer and web designer, so this feature should be very helpful, even if the tool is not very powerful. For example, it could be a good beginning to offer the possibility of the user to get the Hex colors of the last gradient is drawn.
In general in AD or AP, I think that the copy of colors as string could be improved by the creation of a special tool for that. But for the moment I use an external free tool that I like: http://instant-eyedropper.com

Hi there,
In my case, I still looking for how to zoom out in the preview window with the default shortcut. It's look like a bug... I have an AZERTY keyboard and many shortcuts I found here work well. I able to zoom in with the plus button, but nothing's happen with the minus buttons,or even any button of my keyboard, because tried many...
But the Ctrl+scroll button of the mouse, save my day,thanks!
