  1. Posting this as a separate thread as it got lost in another thread that was going off topic. Just gave this beta a red hot go with editing a 360 photo and the live projection. This has made it a whole lot more intuitive when editing 360 photos. Big high five to the team for thinking this one through. I noticed a quirk, which I'm not sure if this is something the devs are planning to fix. When you're in 360 pan view and switch to another tool, then switch back to pan, you have to re-click the 360 view. It's one click but when you have to do it multiple times, it becomes additional clicks that aren't needed. Is there a way to keep it in 360 view when you click away to use another tool? Thanks.
  2. Same issue here. Just a normal export to JPG strips all EXIF. I thought I was going mad. Oddly enough, the exif info is retained if you export as a TIF. Looking forward to the fix.

  4. Hi, I've started testing the Macro function. This is a great step forward! I'm unable to select layers or masks while the macro is recording. See screenshot for the notice. It would be great if we can select layers and masks while recording. One of my frequent use case is to create a custom curve, apply a mask and invert the mask so that I can "paint" the adjustment in manually. Thanks.
  5. Can we use layers for 360 editing? I'm very excited about this new update! Top work!
  6. - Full 32bit unbounded linear editing, including (correct) OpenEXR, Radiance support. - Focus merging. - Live Projections (edit in perspective projection, equirectangular projection). - Macro recording and playback gallery. - Batch processing. All of this! Really looking forward to this update as it'll make things more efficient for me.
  7. Hi, Where are the adjustments saved on the hard drive? I need to migrate the adjustments I've saved on my current Mac to a new Mac. Thanks!
  8. You can switch colour modes when you're done editing. Document->Colour Format->CMYK (8 Bit) When you export as a TIF or JPG, make sure that the correct colour profile has been embedded in the image. I think Default was SWOP V2. If you want to retain your edits in RGB, you can either undo the colour mode change once you've exported as a new file or save this new colour mode file as a new afphoto copy.
  9. Got the Nik Software plugins working however it hasn't brought over my saved recipes. Any ideas on how to get these working? The last time I tried the instructions about adding the plugin folder as well as the root folder using the Beta, I had to reinstall the entire Nik Software suite. I'd like to not have to repeat that.
  10. A good rule of thumb is to increase the separation until you lose the details in the lower frequency layer. This way you can do selective gaussian blurs to even out the tones better. You can see an example of this in my sped up retouching video that I did for a fashion campaign I recently shot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Naqtoh9ey4
  11. Low frequency deals with the tones of the image. High frequency deals with the details of the image.
  12. Hi all, Back in PS land, I use a lot of channel masking when it came to copying and pasting high frequency layers. I've worked out how to do the same in Affinity Photo for the first layer, but when I copy a selected part of the layer and paste it, it copies all the child layers. I've added the screenshot to illustrate this. Is there a way to stop this? It's pretty inefficient having to clear the layers as the number compounds each time I copy and paste. It's one of the few times I've seen the beachball appear while using the program. Thanks in advance!
