When you create a selection and hit command J, you are supposed to get a duplicate of that selection on a new layer but instead you just a whole new layer of the entire layer.

No errors and problems importing, they just look funny. The texture of the brush has no randomness there for it looks like a repeating pattern.

I have downloaded some brushes created in some tutorials I am watching. Lo and behold all the brushes I need to work don't work in APhoto but all brushes I don't need, do work. So, I was thinking that I can take these brushes into someone else's photoshop and convert them to work in APhoto. Question is: how do I go about best doing it ?
