  1. i dont generally have an issue w emojis its the growing disregard for grammar that irks me idk im an old dude fwiw i try not to complain and accept the changing tides but thats a diff topic than emojis sorry dont mean to go off topic tl;dr lol
  2. Text styles for TOCs are created automatically and are not related to any text styles that you have created. TOC text styles only show in the Text Styles panel when a text frame containing a TOC is selected. You can edit the TOC Heading 1 text style — to add space before, for example — without effecting the Heading 1 text style you created.
  3. IDML files can be opened in Affinity Publisher, but not in Designer.
  4. There are at least two issues with pasting screenshots in Affinity that unfortunately have not been resolved yet. One has been logged as a bug, the other has not as far as I know. I believe this is the issue you may be reporting... it has not been logged as a bug in this post... Another issue is that screenshots put 3 pixels from the right edge of the screen on the left edge. I don't know if everyone experiences this or if it's isolated to specific operating systems or what...
  5. If you google password protect zip file there are a lot of results that may help.
  6. The Hyperlinks panel is kind of hidden. In the right sidebar (Studio panels) , tap the ellipsis (3 dots, fourth up from the bottom).
  7. Is this bug still on the developers radar? I'm looking forward to seeing the issue resolved. I posted about this issue 11 months ago, but it wasn't logged as a bug at that time.
  8. Yep, my mistake. I wasn't paying attention to which forum I was in.
  9. No issues for me on Windows. The Node tool works as expected… and if I double click a curves object with the Move tool, the tool switches to the Node tool. I haven’t experienced the Node tool unexpectedly switching to the Move tool.
  10. I agree, it would be nice if there was a way to delete a single page in a facing pages spread without throwing all the subsequent pages off. The way Affinity Publisher currently works, for books and similar documents with facing pages, I’ve found it’s usually best to flow text from page to page — that way, text can be added or deleted rather than pages.
  11. I Googled photoshop camouflage pattern. Maybe you could use Filters > Noise > Perlin Noise in place of the Photoshop Clouds filter. I didn’t watch the entire video, so not sure if there are other techniques used that you’ll need to find a comparable approach for in Affinity.
  12. I tried figuring out what was going on, but couldn’t replicate the issue. Everything looks good in your Text Wrap settings. It’s a mystery. Like you said, it seems like it was just being temperamental. 🤷‍♂️
  13. I was thinking the same thing, then noticed the Node tool is active. I believe the appearance of the image (with blue outline) is consistent with being selected with the Node tool.
  14. I don't understand the issue you're describing. If you attach a PNG file showing the issue, I'm sure someone can help. If you're referring to transparency, here are a couple options: To set the background to transparent: File > Document Setup — in the Color tab, check the Transparent Background box. Select the layers you want to save as a PNG. In the Export Settings dialog, File Settings section, set Area to Selection Only. The PNG file will be the size of the exported artwork.
  15. To convert the canvas to an artboard, try this: Select the Artboard tool. In the Context Toolbar, click Insert Artboard. Does that work for you?
  16. You can create the document with an artboard, or convert the canvas in an existing document to an artboard. Artboards can be resized without effecting the dimensions of your artwork. Adding and removing artboards https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Artboards/artboards_addDelete.html Selecting, moving and resizing artboards https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Artboards/artboards_moveResize.html
  17. It sounds like you did indeed create Groups, they’re just not visible in your screenshot. Your screenshot shows 3 vector Layers, denoted by the 5 horizontal blue lines on the left side of each Layer. Side note: Vector Layers are often referred to as “Layer layers” or “Layers” (without the quotation marks) in these forums. If you’re not familiar with the layer icons, this help article lists all of them: https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Layers/aboutLayers.html.
  18. @bp6 In the Layers panel, select all the layers that you want to copy from, then use the Node tool to drag a selection of the curves you want to copy. Note that you have curves “grouped” in vector Layers. You’ll need to expand the vector Layers and select the child curves in the Layers panel. It can get confusing talking about layers in Affinity. Your screenshot doesn’t show any Groups… there are 3 (vector) Layers, and 2 of the Layers have child objects. Hopefully that makes sense.
  19. @walt.farrell image1 and image2 are the file names… image2 is the top one in the post.
  20. Make a change to any Preference setting… and see if the setting change is remembered when the app is restarted.
  21. I hear you. Hopefully at some point there will be improvements in creating and working with patterns. 🤞
  22. @Tyves I'm not sure if this will accomplish what you want, but maybe worth a try. Rather than saving the pattern as an Asset, you could save the pattern as a PNG file and use it in a Bitmap Fill Layer. Create the pattern: Create a new file and set the canvas size to the size you want your pattern to be. Create the pattern and save the file as a PNG. Use the pattern: Open the file you want to use the pattern in. Create a Fill Layer: Layer > New Fill Layer. In the Context Toolbar, for Type select Bitmap. Navigate to the PNG pattern file you saved and select it. The Fill Layer will cover the entire canvas. You can apply a mask to the Fill Layer if needed. If you want to change the position of the pattern or delete part of it, you will need to rasterize the Fill Layer first.
  23. @Tyves Create a rectangle vector shape with no fill/stroke that’s the size and position of the transparent pixels you want in the asset, group the rectangle with your artwork, and create the asset from the group.
  24. You can download the entire repo from GitHub, which includes over 1.5M SVG web symbols. I'm not aware of a way to automate the process of creating assets from a bunch of SVG files... maybe someone else in here can advise about that.
