  1. Swipe left on the file instead of taping the hamburger menu, then you’ll see a duplicate icon.
  2. Yes. Affinity V2 apps are installed separately from V1. You can have both on the same computer and iPad.
  3. Have you tried uninstalling all Affinity V2 apps, restarting your computer, and downloading the Affinity apps again? I had some issues registering the apps. I initially used the apps in trial mode — I don't know if that has anything to do with the registration issue. In any case, I was able to register after uninstall, restart, downloading V2 again.
  4. I think removing, then applying the master page is probably what fixed the issue, but it's hard to say without knowing all the details. The issue might have been avoided using different options when initially applying the master page. Here are some Affinity help pages that may shed light on how to migrate and apply master pages to get the results you desire. 5. No, that can’t be done in Affinity apps, unfortunately. I wish the option was available in Affinity, too.
  6. That’s how I figured it should work, but there have been several reports from V1 users that V1 is no longer available in the Apple and Microsoft stores. I don’t know if these are isolated cases or if that’s the case for all customers.
  7. If you purchased V1 directly from Affinity, you can log in to your Affinity Store account and download the V1 apps. V1 and V2 can be installed on the same computer… they don’t share any files. I’m not familiar with how things work if the apps are purchased from the Apple or Windows stores, so not sure how/if V1 can be downloaded if purchased from those stores.
  8. Is the layer you're working with a vector layer? As far as I know, adjustment layers can't be merged with vector layers. If that's the issue, you can rasterize the vector layer and then merge the adjustment layer. Note: if the adjustment layer is a child of the layer, rasterizing will merge the vector and adjustment layers.
  9. @karim Have you tried uninstalling all Affinity V2 apps, restarting your computer, and reinstalling the Affinity apps? I can’t remember the exact processes I went through, but I think that’s what ended up enabling me to register the apps. No guarantee, but worth a shot. Totally frustrating, I know.
  10. I hear you, and tend to agree. Although I’m getting used to how constraining works in Affinity, I think it makes the most sense for the shortcut to be universal for all objects.
  11. Totally agree. The V1 shape tool icons were perfect… elegantly subtle and easily identifiable. I’m having a difficult time getting used to the new icons for the shape tools. It kind of feels that way to me too.
  12. Doh! 🤦‍♂️That option was hidden fairly well. I created iOS shortcuts to open images from Photos in each Affinity app… but figured there’s got to be an easier way. Thanks @Paul Mudditt!!
  13. I'm all for a grammar checker. I often copy/paste text from Affinity apps into Word to check for grammar errors — it would be great not to have to do that.
  14. You were able to open an image that's in Photos from the New Document window? I can't figure out how to open an image in Photos directly from an Affinity app. Can you share how you did it?
  15. Sometimes the tooltips for tools in the Tools Panel do not include the Shortcut (in brackets after the tool name). I think I've seen the issue in all 3 apps, but am not certain. I'm not aware of a recipe to create the issue. In one instance, closing and restarting the app fixed the issue — but I've only done that once, so I don't know if closing the app always fixes the issue. Affinity 2.0.0 Windows 10 21H2 Hardware Acceleration: Off
  16. @karim You’ve probably already done these fundamental things, but if not, worth a try… Log out of the Affinity Store Close the Affinity apps Restart your computer Log in to the Affinity Store Try activating the V2 app again
  17. I’m not sure of the logic either… maybe it’s more likely the desired result when resizing a group of object is to constrain proportions. Just a guess. It is something I find useful — I often group single objects if I want to make sure I don’t accidentally change the proportions.
  18. Here are a few suggestions that may help. If you can determine the maximum size the image will be displayed at in the container it’s in (width is typically the only concern), resize the image to that exact max size, then upload the image to your site. Don’t manually resize the image in the WordPress theme. When inserting the image into the webpage, make sure you select Full Size rather than one of the smaller sizes automatically created when the image was uploaded (e.g., Large, Medium, Thumbnail).
  19. Completely agree. I’ve never used an app that I had to change the default setting for in order to see the UI properly. I hope Serif improves the default UI, but if not, I hope they add settings that enable users to make things more legible.
  20. Indeed! 👍 Let me rephrase that... The v1 code doesn't have empty groups, but still needs some work. 🙂
  21. I agree... bug. I created a new file, saved it in Designer v1 and v2, and got the same results as @Palatino — v1 code is clean, v2 has the empty groups.
  22. @Palatino When I save the file with Flatten transforms disabled, I still get empty groups.
  23. @Gemini80 Are you familiar with the Snapping feature? If the outer edge of the crescent is the same radius as the circle beneath it, you should be able to snap the crescent to the right and bottom edges of the circle to get the edges to align. If the outer edge of the crescent has a different radius than the circle, as others have mentioned, things won't line up even after snapping. If you're not familiar with Snapping, set the Snapping options to Object creation, select the Move Tool, and drag the crescent to the edge of the circle until it snaps in place... Snapping: https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/DesignAids/snapping.html If you continue to have issues, if you can provide your Designer file, someone can take a look and let you know what's going on.
