  1. In the Toolbar, open the Snapping options and deselect Show Snapping Candidates. I think I have he name of the option correct… if not, it’s something similar.
  2. I downloaded your file and recorded deleting the selection. Not sure if this video will be helpful. You can reduce the video playback speed (icon lower-right on video) to make it a little easier to see what’s going on. IMG_0460.MOV
  3. After making the pixel selection and then selecting the layer you want to delete from in the Layers Panel, tapping Delete in that same long-press menu will delete only the area that is selected. Are you sure the pixel selection was active when you hit Delete? If there is no pixel selection, the entire layer will be deleted, which is what appears to have happened to you.
  4. With the layer selected in the Layers Panel, long-press anywhere on the canvas and a dialog will appear, tap Select From Layer. I don’t know if the artist in the video assigned a shortcut to a piece of hardware he’s using or if there’s another way to make a pixel selection from the layer.
  5. There are several options for how adjustments, filters, and masks are added in: Preferences > Assistant. See the last 4 options.
  6. Would it be worth logging out of your affinity account in the apps and using the apps logged out to see if that makes a difference? I’m shooting from the hip… I don’t know a thing about how Affinity apps use system resources.
  7. The leaves may have been created with heart shapes. Heart Tool https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/Tools/tools_heart.html You could create one leaf, duplicate it, and rotate the duplicate using the bottom tip as the origin point. Then nudge the leaves inward towards each other to make them overlap however much you want. Rotating and shearing objects (see transform origin) https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/pages/ObjectControl/rotateShear.html
  8. I think it’s a matter of personal preference rather than performance considerations. I usually prefer folder icons, and rely on group names to quickly identify contents. I imagine the type of graphic/artwork and how complex it is affect whether thumbnails or folder icons are more helpful.
  9. That hyperlink returns ‘Page not found’ for me. Not sure if it’s an issue on my end… but I think the extra characters at the end of the URL are likely invalid. If the link doesn’t work for you, this is the intended page: License Activation & Registration Explained https://affinity.serif.com/learn/in-app-licence-activation/
  10. I believe this should find all underlined text: In the Find and Replace panel, click the Cog icon to the right of Find. Select Format. In the Choose Format dialog, select Color & Decoration in the left column menu. In the Underline drop-down menu, select Single. Click OK In the Find and Replace panel, click Find.
  11. I don't know if the descriptions on the Affinity help page for Above (DPI), Use document resolution, and Use DPI will be helpful to you: https://affinity.help/publisher2/en-US.lproj/pages/Publishing/exportSettings.html I don't understand the need or benefit of all the DPI settings, myself, so my comment is more of a bump to this post... I'm hoping someone can shed light on this topic.
  12. Yep, disregard my last statement… I had a temporary brain freeze.
  13. Ah, I get it. I've never painted a mask directly onto an adjustment layer... didn't realize that was possible. Applying a mask layer to an adjustment layer does provide more freedom to make changes.
  14. I’m not sure I understand what you’re trying to accomplish. To delete a mask, simply select it and delete it. Does that not do the job?
  15. No, V2 does not overwrite V1. You can have both versions installed on your computer. Edit: @debraspicher You beat me to it. 🙂
  16. The Affinity Help page, License Activation Explained section, provides instructions that should help you out: https://store.serif.com/en-us/help/
  17. When multiple layers are selected, if the top layer is an adjustment layer or mask, the right-click context menu doesn't include Group (and a number of other options). You can use the keyboard shortcut like Old Bruce suggested or the menu Layer > Group.
  18. I've found that if the Base text style Font Traits is [No change], the TOC often goes haywire and becomes bold. I don't know if the issue is specific to particular fonts or not. I don't have the font used in your file, so can't replicate the issue, but I'm wondering if setting the Base text style font trait would correct the bold issue. I wish I had something of value to add here... unfortunately not. I'm often frustrated by this in regular non-TOC text styles.
  19. Do the Pen Tool layers need to be merged down before exiting Equirectangular projection? I’m not sure if this applies to your situation… See section: To add additional layers in live projection view https://affinity.help/photo2/en-US.lproj/index.html#
  20. Yes, I understand a baseline grid can be set in a text frame. But if the text frame with 'Use Baseline Grid' enabled is moved vertically, the text doesn't display the behavior the OP described, because the baseline moves with the text frame. That's why I figured the Text Frame baseline grid options may not play a role in the issue. But, could be I'm not understanding the issue completely.
  21. @John Rostron Am I correct in assuming that you do not want to use the baseline grid anywhere in the document? If you have disabled the baseline grid in View > Baseline Grid, I don't believe the baseline grid options in other areas could be causing the "jumpy text" issue. For example, enabling the baseline grid in the Text Frame panel won't make the text jump around when the text frame is moved, because the baseline is anchored to the text frame. If you could upload a Publisher file with a text frame exhibiting the behavior, someone in here should be able to figure out what's going on.
