  1. Recently when I try to open the Batch and Macros panels they do not show up. The check mark shows them on but they are not in my open panels. I can import and use old macros but I cannot record any more. I haven’t tried to open the macros or Batch panels for awhile so this might have started with the latest upgrade.
  2. markw, Thanks for your answer. I am a bit of a Mac Geek from way back, along with a little anal about organization. I knew where everything was on my 13 year old G5 but a lot has changed with the Mac OS. JulieO
  3. I have the same question tumber8 asked about styles. How do I get the textures/images I had in styles from PS CS3 to show in Affinity Photo? I opened the doc “Styles CS3,54a.psd” in Affinity Photo and some of the effects were there but the textures /images were gone. The attachment includes the jpg and psd opened in Affinity Photo. I also included the image of a style from Claudia Phoenyx. The top one has the effects checked and in the bottom one the effects are unchecked but the texture is still there. In Claudia’s style where is the texture kept? I have hundreds of styles I created in CS3 and I would love to share them but without the textures/images there is not much there. My 13 year old Mac that had PS CS3 on it is no longer available so I can’t use PS to convert them to afstyles, Any suggestions? Thanks, JulieO
  4. On a Mac Corel Painter and other program’s resources are stored either in the app package or in a folder in the user library. I can’t find where the resources are stored for Affinity Photo. Are they stored in a folder somewhere or are references to them in a text doc? If you change the name or location of the resources that have been imported does that affect the stability of Photo? I know you can only access one brush or other resource folder at a time but does it affect the app if you have a lot of resources imported? JulieO
  5. Thank you for your awesome styles. I recently stopped using Photoshop and now use Affinity Photo. I had a huge collection of styles for Photoshop that are no longer useable since they cannot be used in Affinity Photo. If anyone knows how to convert PS styles to Affinity I would love to know about it. Thanks Again, JulieO
  6. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. It was the old external HD I was using. I got a new one and problem solved
  7. I have been an Adobe Creative Suite user for almost 30 years, mostly Photoshop. My last update was CS3 about 12 years ago on my thirteen year old G5. I recently got a new iMac but I did not want to go with a subscription for Photoshop so I have been running PS on my G5 with screen sharing but there is a of lag time so I started looking for a PS clone . You can imagine my delight with finding the Affinity apps, Photo does everything my old PS does and the video tutorials are great. I have been using Photo for about a week now without any problems but suddenly I cannot open any of my jpgs. I get the message “Failed to open file...The file is already open in another application.” I made sure that the images are not open in any other apps, even the free Adobe bridge app that was working fine before. Unlike Enrique previously opened files open fine. The workaround is a pain in the butt, I have to File/ Place the image into a doc that is the right size, usually an image from the same batch/size, then Cut, then New from Clipboard, then go back to the finder to copy the name, edit it then save it as afphoto or export it as a PSD so I can save my layers, finally on the Export as jpg. Appreciate any help, I have lots of photos to edit. JulieO
