Yeah I believe this is about Apple Photos extension, I have the same wish, getting back these auto functions which are much more efficient than those from Apple Photos.

Hi, thanks a lot for this improved Beta release. I noticed that the Apple Photos implementation has been reworked with additional tools. However, I regret that the auto correction (levels, colors...) are not available anymore - or I did not find them. Keep going team, I am so happy not having invested in PS :) Viva Affinity :)

As per the "help" from Apple to go from Yosemite to Le Capitan, Affinity retouching is part of the examples for extensions in Photos. But currently I cannot see it as extension, probably Affinity has to release an update for that feature.
