It was quite funny when some time ago, before this thread I heard that Windows version has no GPU acceleration yet. I have quite old CPU and everything works smooth as butter. Sure, I can hear fans on CPU going busy when working It will be so cool to get GPU acceleration on Windows too!
Now, when Adobe bought Allegorithmic I am kind of sure that they will screw it up and bloat Photoshop further instead of making the best from absolutely fantastic, Substance software they bought. Surely Adobe has some great devs working there, but people who make decisions seems to be absolute idiots (who think 3D printing integration is what Photoshop needed and trying to make everything overly easy, simple, drag and drop, voice command etc). So meanwhile, when Adobe decision taking people will be hard at work, figuring out how to bloat Photoshop up and slow down development of Substance - I hope Affinity team will bring us GPU usage on their lean-mean software package for windows. Good luck
    PS
REALLY cant wait for 1.7. I mean... I can and will but damn it will be nice to get update for Affinity little package . Well, back to Photo..

Everytime you could on the forum and raise work flow issues, we try to sort these out. I can't remember specifics off the top of my head, but I remember you mentioning being unable to drag windows accurately enough, so @Chris J added a fix for that. We've also been saving more settings in dialogs (I think I remember you raising issues with resize document / canvas which we addressed). So to say that we are ignoring things is not accurate. We might not have fixed things as quickly as you'd like, for that we apologise, but we are here, we are reading, and we are fixing. I've asked @Chris J to address more of the areas of the applications that don't remember settings for 1.7. With regards to centring the image when undocking a window, not everyone wants this to happen, feedback has been that people want to maintain the current zoom (if you're working in a specific area in a document and undock, why would you want to zoom out and lose your place?). We could look at adding a preference for this, but you have to realise, the reason we haven't made that change is because it's only been raised by 1 person, so we can't justify making the change.
With regards to the other users here, no, they aren't being paid by Serif. It might be that other people have different workflows to yourself, so are unaffected by the issues that you are raising.

    Hi PilleniusMC,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Version 1.7 of Affinity Photo for Mac added support for Metal compute (GPU) acceleration for several tasks (besides displaying/rendering the image on screen) thus the frequent fixes for this platform (for issues that have been reported related with its implementation). Affinity Photo for Windows doesn't benefit from any GPU acceleration yet - this is still being worked on. All the other fixes/improvements unrelated with GPU acceleration should come in an upcoming Beta for Windows.

@hifred, just to let you know, we've started work on optionally allowing SHIFT to be reserved as a tool cycle modifier. We will probably default this behaviour to Off, so that it won't change the experience for existing customers, but it should be easy enough to switch it on in Preferences.

Hi @hifred, I have written out a post explaining that the feature is working as intended, but then as I was testing, have noticed a bug... The first part of my post details how it *should* work, then in the second part of the post I'll explain the bug (which should be easy to fix).
When you press 'B' it will cycle through any tools which have 'B' as their shortcut. You can see this by going into Preferences | Keyboard Shortcuts. If you choose Photo | Tools, you can scroll down to 'Paint Brush Tool' and see the shortcut, as well as hovering over the green and white arrows at the end of the text box, which will show you what other tools are assigned to this shortcut. By default that is 'Colour Replacement Brush Tool', 'Pixel Tool', and 'Smudge Brush Tool'.
If you choose a tool which *doesn't* have the same shortcut, e.g. change to 'Flood Fill Tool' / 'Gradient Tool' ('G'), and then press the 'B' shortcut again, it will take you straight back to the last tool that you used from the 'B' shortcut group (e.g. if you were on 'Pixel Tool' it will return to 'Pixel Tool').
    ----------------------------
The bug: If you have 'Pixel Tool' selected, for example, then use the mouse to choose 'Paint Brush Tool', then switch to another tool (e.g. 'Flood Fill Tool'), then press 'B', you would expect to go back to 'Paint Brush Tool', but instead you will go back to 'Pixel Tool' (as that was the last tool that was activated with the 'B' shortcut).
    ----------------------------
We will look at fixing this for 1.7.
