Click here to download the latest beta Status: Customer Beta Purpose: Fixes Requirements: A valid product key (for Affinity Store purchases), or an installation of the full retail version from the Microsoft Store As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents. We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post a new thread in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback. If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum. Hi Pat, I've seen this before, quite a while ago. It was caused by some third party software. Please check the list here - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/44770-issues-caused-by-third-party-software/ Copy & pasted from that thread: ASUS Sonic / MSI NahemicProblem: User Interface elements can disappear or appear stretchedCause: ASUS Sonic / MSI Nahemic interferes with Direct3D9 rendereringSolution: Start the application with --no-hw-ui flag, or stop the software (this won't affect the driver or functionality of the sound card)https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/49247-16089-issues-tabs-vanishing/&do=findComment&comment=249809

1.10.0.1104 crashes loading files.
Mark Ingram replied to RichardMH's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Did you use DDU to uninstall, or just tick the "Clean" option in the NVIDIA installer? -

1.10.0.1104 crashes loading files.
Mark Ingram replied to RichardMH's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Just to confirm: The crash is within the NVIDIA driver, so there's nothing we can do about this unfortunately. I suggest trying DDU to do a clean uninstall and then reinstall your graphics drivers. -

There's no need to argue or discuss the point of AMD support. We are in contact with AMD, who are being very responsive, and they are working on a fix. The issue is that their latest drivers have been re-written for the new architectures, and there's a problem with the OpenCL kernel compiler, as it's now 10X slower than it was before (this would translate to a hang when switching to a new tool for the first time for each app launch). I've provided them with test cases, and I'm in regular contact with their engineers about the problem.

Mark Ingram replied to Jason Gibbins's topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop
Hi Jason, our office is still closed, and we're all working from home still. Thanks for your patience. -
This is completely off-topic for this thread. Just because your favourite / required feature hasn't been implemented yet, does not mean that we aren't listening, or not working on them. Many features have been implemented based on the feedback from those forums. In your complaint about the lack of a Knife tool in Designer, you acknowledge that we've added Corner tools and Astrophotography (to Photo), both of which were raised from user feedback. I appreciate that you are desperate for a Knife tool, but we have to prioritise which features to work on, which bugs to fix etc. And it goes without saying that the Photo team is separate to the Designer team, so the addition of Astrophotography had no impact on Designer.

HW acceleration
Mark Ingram replied to grapher's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on Windows threads
That's because it only supports D3D Feature Level 11.1. That GPU is in the Haswell chip, and the earliest supported Intel GPU is in the Skylake chips. -
