There isn't an unofficial beta, I'm in the process of releasing this new beta. But it seems I've been beaten to it by other "external" sites. Would you mind saying which site you downloaded this file from? I'm just concerned that as it hasn't come from us, you may have downloaded a version that was loaded with malware or viruses.

This is caused by ASUS Sonic or MSI Nehemic:

Click here to download the latest beta Status: Customer Beta Purpose: Fixes Requirements: A valid product key (for Affinity Store purchases), or an installation of the full retail version from the Microsoft Store As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents. We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post a new thread in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback. If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum. Changes Added 'Select Parent', 'Select Top', and 'Select Bottom' to main menu Changed behaviour of Select All when Edit All Layers is disabled - if you’re inside a group, it will now Select All within the group Fixed PDF passthrough getting rasterised if vector cropped Previous release notes

Affinity Photo Crashes/Closes Constantly
Mark Ingram replied to artbymaddesign.com's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
That's great Michael, I'm glad you're back up and running again! I don't think we knew about this problem when you made your original post. But either way, glad it's sorted now 🙂 -
I'm the lead engineer for Windows, so I'm pretty well placed to comment on what common crashes we see. Looking at the thread you provided, I identified the original crash was within the NVIDIA driver. We know of a problem with Capture One's Explorer integration, which caused a crash within the NVIDIA driver in other applications, and I notice that the original poster mentioned that they have Capture One installed, so that crash will have been caused by them. I reported this issue to NVIDIA, and they are now aware of it (and can reproduce it). So yes, to re-iterate, the original crash was indeed caused by a crash in a graphics driver, caused by a piece of third party software being installed.

Hi Michael, I appreciate this is late, but it seems your crash will have been caused by the Capture One Explorer integration. You'll notice that Capture One is now listed in the "Issues caused by third party software" thread. NVIDIA are aware of the problem, and I think they may have released an updated driver which prevents the crash. -
Affinity simply refuses to Open on my dell laptop
Mark Ingram replied to Vinn's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
The user is showing the default installation directory for a direct purchase, not a Microsoft Store purchase. @Vinn, I suggest getting the latest version from our store (you should be able to login to get a link). -
Affinity crashes after opening a picture
Mark Ingram replied to Karl47's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Probably graphics driver related. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers. -
