  1. The crashes when opening a document are happening when Hardware Acceleration is enabled from a previous beta, but with the new requirements, the Hardware Acceleration isn't available. A CTRL start should resolve the issue.
  2. Yes unfortunately we’ve had to raise the requirements in this latest release.
  3. Thanks, that’s the correct file, but it shows a successful start and shutdown of the app. Is that definitely after it crashed with HA enabled?
  4. Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Preferences and trying again? If that works, can you switch HA back on, and attach your log file to a post please.
  5. These requirements will be in the retail version. Also Windows 8.1 is out of mainstream support from Microsoft now, so you should consider upgrading to Windows 10 for security reasons.
  6. Apologies, I was thinking of the 600 series when I wrote that. I’ve updated my post.
  7. Your NVIDIA 960 and Intel 520 should both be compatible. The older NVIDIA 660 won’t be.
  8. Click here to download the latest beta Status: Customer Beta Purpose: Features, Improvements, Fixes Requirements: A valid product key (for Affinity Store purchases), or an installation of the full retail version from the Microsoft Store As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents. We hope you enjoy the latest build, and as always, if you've got any problems, please don't hesitate to post a new thread in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks once again for your continued feedback. If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum. Changes Enable hardware by default, but restrict it to Windows 10.0.19041 (May 2020), and GPUs that support Direct3D 12 Feature Level 12.0 and above (see https://affin.co/WinGPU for further information). Added Save as Package Added ability to open package files Improvements to application registration and content syncing Improved Studio Presets management Fixed import of some PSD files ignoring the alpha channel Fixed ALT+MouseWheel causing the menubar to highlight Fixed crash when resizing canvas Fixed Alignment toolbar buttons always being disabled Fixed several bugs relating to using pixel layers as children in symbols 1.9.0.820 release notes

  10. If you go back and run it without administrator, does it crash again?
  11. It's optional, if you don't like it, don't use it, we won't be forcing you to create an account. We just thought it was a convenient way for users to download their content from the store, in the app.
  12. Did you enable Windows Ink in the Wacom Tablet Properties before using the High Precision mode?

If you have a general question about the software, please head over to the Questions Forum, or if you have any suggestions, please head over to the Feature Requests forum. New Feature: Product registration and store content streaming We have now added the ability to link your Affinity app to your Affinity account through a new app registration process. This will have the advantages of you being able to stream any content you have purchased or received for free from the Affinity store directly to all your apps without having to manually install them. This is of particular use to customers who have more than one of our apps, or run our apps on different devices and operating systems as all your content will automatically be available across all of them. If you register the beta app you will initially receive a free brush kit (the luminance brush kit) for testing purposes. This might be a kit you already have, but if you don’t you will get it for free. In a couple of weeks this will be expanded to include all of the store content you may already own. While this is the full scope of what we are implementing for 1.9, the link between your account and your apps will open up the possibility for us to offer other features and services in the future which we think you will like. Update: Following user feedback we have changed Store content to (optionally) be retained after the user has signed-out Changes Fixed middle mouse button failing to work after displaying the Registration page Fixed noise rendering in linear fills Fixed not being able to set the current vector brush 1.9.0.815 release notes

  15. This has been implemented by a new and different team, so other feature development hasn't been affected.
  16. We're not Adobe 🙂 Honestly, this was designed as a something that we thought would be good (and helpful) for our users. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it, we're not forcing you to use it (and that's why it is optional).
  17. Yep, and we consciously designed it in a way to support portable / disconnected devices, as the apps are available on iPads...
  18. If your internet drops, you're still technically logged in, you're just disconnected.
  19. I would really recommend anyone still on Windows 7 to upgrade to Windows 10 if at all possible.
