It's currently 650mb, so this sounds like a bug. Do you mean the installer failed to run, or the application failed to launch?

What about if you go to Windows Explorer (hit Windows key + E), and type %APPDATA% into the address bar, where does it take you?

I agree - I have the same problem as Arek.
I use Windows 10 64 bit.
Default folder location: "C:\Program Files\Serif\Affinity Designer Public Beta
Affinity start only one time after system restart.
Hi Bushi, what is your username on your PC? i.e. if you type %APPDATA% into the address bar of Windows Explorer, what address does it take you to?

Affinity Beta loaded fine but am unable to run it. I'm getting an error message "The software requires a DirectX10 compatible graphics card to run" My Win. 7 HP Desktop shows DirextX11 is installed , is up to date and working. Not sure if this is a bug or some other cation is needed to be able to try the software?

Hi, DirectX 11 is the software, but you need a compatible graphics card to use it (a card that is capable of DirectX10 commands). What graphics card do you have?

I thought the "The force feedback trackpads" issue was not the cause on my MB because I have a normal trackpad without force touch. But maybe that was just a misunderstanding between mac and windows users.
Ah, sorry, I've updated the post to be a little clearer. The force feedback trackpad suffers from an extra issue...

overall performance seems really on pair with the mac version as far as I can tell but without the trackpad pinch and zoom it´s hardly usable for me right now :unsure:
Hi, as I said at the start of this thread, the Bootcamp trackpad drivers (from Apple) are terrible, and don't generate the correct inputs in Windows.

Hello, could you tell us the username that you are logged onto Windows with? Does it contain accented characters or other non-ASCII characters? If you press "Windows Key + E", and then go to the address bar and type %APPDATA%, can you paste that address here?

Can mouse-wheel zoom be enabled without using CTRL?
Hi, you can go to Edit | Preferences | Tools, and enable the "Use mouse wheel to zoom" option.

We're interested in trying to fix this issue, so if you could help with that it would be great. But as a workaround, you can install .NET Framework 4.5.2 directly from Microsoft, and then our installer shouldn't even attempt to install the prerequisite.

Welcome to the first public beta of Affinity Designer on Windows! The beta is available here. The Mac version is available here.
Known issues:
- Text input is slow
- Single clicks can be mistaken for double clicks
- Workaround: Click slightly slower when adding points, or decrease the double click time in the Windows Control Panel (fixed in 1.5.0.3)
- The second point on a new curve doesn't render the tool correctly
- Trackpads don't work properly in Bootcamp (non force feedback trackpads aren't able to pinch to zoom, and force touch trackpads are unable to spacebar and pan)
- Workaround: Use a mouse, or install the Trackpad++ driver (disclaimer: this is 3rd party software, and as such we accept zero responsibility for any issues arising from it's use)
If you experience any problems with installation, please read the Install FAQ first.
If you experience any other problems with the beta, please can you create a new post describing your problem, and we will try our best to deal with it :) .

Hi, I'm working on a Photoshop brush importer for Affinity Photo, so in order to test the feature I'm in search of a varied selection of Photoshop brush files. If you have any, I'd be grateful if you could email them to support@seriflabs.com. Once I've finished the feature I'll delete all the files I've received.

Hi smallreflection, we've setup an Apache WebDav server, and connected to it using the built in Mac OS X client, and I can confirm the error message that you're seeing.
Just to let you know, I've checked in a fix for this, so it should be available as part of the next release.

same here as bandit69. I also switched back to english. But I prefer an language option in the app prefs for easy switching -> good to show mates and friends which won't use an english software :)
Hi Markus, just to let you know, I've added a language option in the Preferences to switch between installed languages. It'll be available in the next beta build :).

Hi, have you installed any fonts on your Surface Book, or any software that might have installed any? Also, if you open Explorer and type %APPDATA% into the address bar, where does it take you?
