  1. Hi, it seems to be working OK for me, is it just that you selected the rectangle inside the crop? Here's a video I made: https://youtu.be/x_MEH4iexvo
  2. Thanks nekto, I think I've fixed the issue now, so it should be available in the next build.
  3. Hi Steve, the checkbox is for deciding whether the CTRL key needs to be pressed to enable zoom, it doesn't distinguish between horizontal or vertical.
  4. Hi, sorry, that is a firm requirement for the application to run. If you don't want to install the update, you could upgrade to Windows 10?
  5. Can you attach a screenshot of your whole desktop with Affinity Designer running and perhaps Windows Explorer in the middle? i.e. maximise Designer, and then drag an Explorer window into the middle of the screen so I can see the difference in font rendering.
  6. Yes, the help file is out of date (on both platforms).
  7. I've just added in some code which should help. I can't reproduce the issue here, so it's a little bit hit and miss, but I'll add it for the next build and we'll see how we get on.
  8. Hi Edith, is this is a recent computer that you have purchased? What is it's model number? DirectX10 capable graphics cards have been available for 12 years now, so I would be surprised if a new computer didn't have a compatible card. If you press Win+R, then type dxdiag into the box and hit Enter, then go to the Display tab, can you tell me what your card is?
  9. Hi Alan, you can use the keyboard shortcuts (CTRL+Z for undo, CTRL+SHIFT+Z for redo) or the History panel to undo and redo changes. Open Recent doesn't include the samples, it should include any files that you've opened or saved. With regards to your monitors, what resolutions are they? And what zoom levels are they at? 100%? 150%? 200%? What OS are you using?
  10. To enable scroll when Use mouse wheel to zoom is enabled, you need to hold down CTRL (as you noticed with the vertical scrolling).
  11. Hi, if it's not the same as the Mac version, it's a bug! We'll get it logged for you. Thanks for your feedback.
  12. Yes, as you've just said, it's a scroll wheel. The default behaviour in Windows is to scroll (look at Explorer, or Internet Explorer, Chrome etc), holding down CTRL will zoom.
  13. Thanks Steve, I've got your crash dump now and I'm just having a look at it.
  14. Hi John, it looks like you have Aero disabled, unfortunately we don't support installations where Aero is disabled (you should have got a warning when you started the application), as it uses a different graphics driver which can cause rendering problems and severe performance problems.
  15. Because by default the mouse wheel scrolls in Windows, so we preserve the same behaviour.
  16. I'm going to add some logging before the next build so I can see how far we get and what's causing the crash. We'll sort it out in the end, sorry it's not working straight away!
  17. Thanks Arun, that'll definitely be why you can't start the application! It's failing at literally the first point. We'll get to the bottom of it :)
  18. Yep, the new version just uninstalls the old one then installs the new version.
  19. Sorry, I guess that assumes that he doesn't have any other Serif apps installed. Yes, Alfred is right, just deleting the Affinity Designer and Affinity Common folders would suffice.
  20. Thanks Jet, we're aware of this issue and will fix it shortly :).
  21. Thanks for the report MatejJunk, I can reproduce both of those issues, so we'll get this fixed as soon as possible.
  22. Hi Arun, for reference, the location is: %APPDATA%\Serif\Affinity Designer\1.0 (Beta)\CrashReports
