Blimey, that is a lot of profiles! Any chance you could zip up all of the ICC profiles and attach them here? Or PM me a link to them. I'll add them here and see which one is the culprit.

I've checked the reports, and they are the same crashes as Depcore, and Woodkopf. Again, if you could list any ICC profiles you have installed, that would be super helpful. There will be a fix available in the next release.

Thanks for the crash reports, I've had a look and yes, it's exactly the same crash as Depcore. I've put a fix in place for the next release, but it would be really useful if we could identify the ICC profile that is causing the problem. Can you get a list of ICC profiles that are installed on your system? What about if you go to "Colour Management" in Windows and see what your current profile is set to?

It might be that the installer is missing some prerequisites that are in Windows Updates.

Thanks for that. It looks like you have an ICC profile installed which is causing problems. I think I can fix the problem, but it would be useful if you could identify which profile is causing the crash, and send it over? That way we can verify the fix.

Can you have a look in %APPDATA%\Affinity\Designer\1.0 (Beta)\CrashReports and upload any files in there?

Have you tried rebooting?

Are you on Windows 7?

The app will need to be restarted after a change in the UI scale. Affinity Designer does scale (my desktop has a 4K monitor so it uses 200% scaling, and my laptop also has a 4K screen, but in a smaller area, so it uses 250% scaling, and Designer correctly scales for each, including using higher resolution icons, etc).

If you are already running at 100% UI scaling in Windows, then disabling the scaling for Designer won't have an affect.

When the shortcut keys stop working, can you type text in the application? i.e. Can you use the Artistic Text Tool?

No, it was only related to text input.

I've just tried this on my laptop here, and I can confirm the slowdown. We had this exact issue a few months ago which we fixed, but I believe a more recent fix has broken it again. I'll make sure it is fixed before the final release.

Hi, yes, we fixed the text entry speed many weeks ago, are you still experiencing problems? Typing font names was broken in 1.5.0.26, we will be fixing this for the next release.

What was in the contents of the second result (i.e. after you pressed F3)?

As in, the tool buttons are enabled when you create a new document, or some of the toolbar buttons enable when you make a selection etc. It's something the program controls automatically to indicate that tool's availability, not something you can change. So the available ones look right, and the unavailable ones don't.

Hi Nana, unfortunately no, this issue won't be fixed ahead of release. We are concentrating on fixing issues which affect the majority of users, and as far as I can tell, the number of people who will be using the application via remote desktop is going to be very small. Also, the icons only look strange when they're disabled. When the buttons become enabled, they look normal. This is actually a problem with remote desktop itself, not with our application.
