  1. I'm mindful that this is a question about a third party application, so this is to see if anyone has this experience and found a workaround.

I acquired the V2 suite recently and have been working with the Frankentoon Splat! pack. I use a One by Wacom tablet on a Mac M1 running OS Sonoma 14.1.1.

After initially working fine, the Wacom pen did not activate the drop down buttons on the Library dropdown that runs the macros in Frankentoon. The pen can though successfully select and activate all the native functions in Designer. Using the trackpad, I can activate the macros from the Library dropdown.

This issue is not preventing me from using the Frankentoon app successfully, just that the Wacom isn't working as I'd wish. I'm using one of the pack sample images to test functions, so the issue isn't of my own creation (ie, not one of my own designs). I've successfully edited the sample image previously using the Wacom to select macros. Now this only works via the trackpad.

I've quit and relaunched the Wacom app and added AF Designer to apps within Wacom Center to no effect.

In addition to this post I will also contact Frankentoon support.

    Thank you.

which exact tool do you use for drawing the line?

    • Pixel brush
    • pen tool
    • pencil tool (Designer)

in Case you are using pixel layers and brush, you need to use the flood selection tool to select only the fill area (without black line) before applying the gradient fill.

Do not use layer fx in this case.

This helped me understand and resolve the issue I had, thank you. In Designer, I was using pixel brush  and layer fx for the gradient. Once I'd done as you suggested and used the fill tool in Designer Persona, the gradient could be applied and the black line retained its colour independently go the gradient colours.

  3. I want to use gradient fill within a freehand drawn line. I have learned how to use the fill tools, but cannot fathom how to have the drawn line omitted from the gradient fill. I want the line to remain isolated from the gradient fill. For example, if draw a freehand circle drawn with a black line, then apply a colour fill. The black line and the colour fill remain separate. When I then apply a gradient, the black line is then affected by the gradient applied and fades accordingly. I only want the gradient applied to the colour within the drawn line. Hope this makes sense. Any assistance appreciated.

I use Designer on Mac OS 12.4.

  4. I’m running Affinity Photo version 1.9.1 on iPad gen 6 with iPad OS 14.4.1

I’ve successfully downoaded the Sunlight Effects Overlays and all of the Dust Brushes and Overlays, with one exception. The Dust overlays (afassets) file repeatedly fails. There is sufficient space on the iPad to accommodate the 1.66MB file. A message Pack Download Failed and ‘bad checksum’ is displayed each time upon completion.
Can anyone help with a solution please? Thanks.
