Hi Walt,
thank you very much for your quick reply.
I tried to record the Macro as you suggested, but unfortunately, it did not work. I am still getting PNGs with black background. I, then, tried another Macro to delete the layers with background and only keep the to layer, but I cant get this to do the job either. I am attaching pics of my EXR files with layers to better illustrate my problem. I need my final PNG only to contain the top layer "View Layer.Combined.RGBA". This needs to be achieved in a batch process as I need to apply this on several hundreds of animation stills.
Again, thank you very much for your help!
Best regards,
Hidari

Hi there,
I was trying to batch process my blender rendered .exr files to png and even though the exr files are saved in RGBA, I cannot get them into png format with a transparent background. Regardless what I do, the backgorund is alsways black as one or more of the render layers in the exr shows a black background. I would only want the top view (RGBA) layer with the transparent background. How can I do that?
Thanks so much for your help!
Best,
Hidari

Hi telemax,
thanks so much! It worked using your macro.
For some reason, "Associate OpenEXR alpha channels" was checked in my case. I unchecked it and everything is perfect.
Thanks so much again!
