Hi Callum, Thank you so much for responding, I really appreciate it. I have made a number of attempts after scrutinising all the layer bending modes and reverting these to 'Normal', and re-exporting, but always experienced the same result. Herewith the file for one of the images;AW.5.afdesign I have changed the preset to PDF digital (high quality), and this works. This is otherwise the consistent result every time I try to export PDF for print. I am using a Mac, OS Monterey version 12.6.3

THANK YOU Alain! What a relief. It's all working again.

I have since opened Affinity Designer on my iPad, and the adjustments in both the vector persona and the rasta persona work perfectly. So this is not a iOS operating system problem, but instead an Affinity Photo problem. file:///var/folders/3v/9tmjb7417qvfh0d0btk08sw00000gn/T/com.apple.Safari/WebKitDropDestination-IPQRLSwH/RPReplay_Final1659718491.mp4

Thank you for responding so quickly, this is really appreciated. I have done a forced restart, as you suggested, and this has now resulted in none of my adjustment options working. They are all now not showing a masking layer in the layers panel, or displaying a contextual tool bar menu after being selected. I tried the filters options to find out if these had also been affected, but discover they are all working perfectly. and show a mask in the layers panel in the event that I opt for 'live filters'. I will attach a screen recording as soon as I am able, but this might take some time since I am writing from South Africa, and we are about to enter a session of "load shedding".

Adjustments not working for 7 of the options. Curves, Colour Balance, Channel Mixer, Split Toning, Selective Colour, OCIO and Lens Filter. After selecting the one of these options nothing happens. There is no contextual tool bar displayed nor masking layer added to the layers panel. This occurred suddenly before the very recent iOS update, and still persist after. All other Adjustment options still working perfectly! Please help. Rob Owen.

hi M. This is Rob, I am a relative newbie too, and would also like an explanation of what the x's mean. In desperation, after searching everywhere for an answer without success, I decided to go into the layers panel, and after opening (tapping) consecutive layer panels, discovered that there is one that represents all text on the page. When selected the x's are replaced by blue roundels. This allows for the text on the page to be edited. Other adjacent layer panels are for different text panels; such as the text frame containing the page number, etc. This initiative was excercised because I badly needed to finish the project on which I was working. I wish someone from Serif would give an explanation for what the x's represent on a text frame.

Tool context menu not showing
Rob Owen replied to Rob Owen's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Feeling very stupid.😖 I had been working in Photo on desktop, and expected to see the tool context menu along the top of the screen. Needed to stroke a shape. On the iPad the tool context menu is at the bottom of the screen....... -
If you open your layers panel find the highlighted layer indicating the page where you are experiencing the problem. Tap the adjacent layers until the page on which you wish to select the text appears with roundels and not x’s, and the text tools will flash interactive

I am unable to select text previously inserted by me with the frame text tool. I have tried the frame text tool, the artistic text tool and the move tool. I am on a Mac Big Sur Version 11.2.3, using Affinity Publisher 1.9.1 (most recent update). Also want to know why some margin frames have x as opposed to roundels? The master facing pages both have margin guides with roundels.
