I was very pleasantly surprised that affinity photo offers batch processing. However, I regret that you have to select the individual files as sources. My suggestion would be that you can select a directory as the source for batch processing and then all the image files in it with all the subdirectories are processed. Batch processing without selecting a directory with subdirectories is like a motorised car with the accelerator on the bumper.
