I'm just not going to do it. Its that simple. No divining nonsense needed. At this point I'm done finding adobe alternatives or perpetual software licenses that are good enough. enough is enough.

I saw this email yesterday and unsubscribed. They knew there would be blow back here, and a lot of pissed off users. In the end there really aren't any promises that we can count on. This latest post should have been with the first post. I just reactivated my creative suite account. The whole reason why I switched was Affinity was not adobe and have a great product that does 99% of what I need it for. To be fair I've never heard of Canva, I live in a bubble, just a dude in the woods making graphics. I dont care what they have promised, its all the same nonsense Ive heard before. done with this company and whoever bought them. Adios.

I've been here, Its not up to Serif to prove us wrong its Canva and they are a billion dollar + company. In the end they could care less. Ive heard it all before, "nothing will change." They say that to prevent people from leaving, first to their employees, and lastly to users. When one of my favorite employers was bought out. I was the first out the door, after the sale and a few months later I talked with my old boss and he said "They lied to me" and he was super frustrated. and boy did they loose a lot of customers. 1200 contracts in the first month alone. In the end its not serif anymore period. Like @Bit Disappointed said "There's much, much more at stake than the price. "

I've heard this all before. Congratulations! You have just lost a customer. I have been in a company that was acquired, This will not end well for users period. I will not purchase another License perpetual or any form of a subscription. I will not recommend this product ever again. If I believed in Canva I would be one of their customers. I believed in Serife, and again like algorithmic and Pixologic, i have been let down.

stokerg, I have never uninstalled or removed any protected system font. However you were right. Arial-MT was installed and was definitely a different language. Font removed and everything works correctly.

Thanks I've read all these. It almost seems using a font manager and activating and deactivating fonts may be the cause. though none of those posts have a fix.

Whether creating a new file or modifying an existing file, the artboard Title font seems to be in a font called Cairo or ?cairo as I found a document i made a long time ago that has text that is the same and seems to be a different font than what it was created in. The Layer labels are just fine. My settings are English which i though maybe at first that was the issue. Not sure when this happened as I dont use it often. Super frustrating.

Thanks Mr. Farrell. That's a great idea though my OCD will kick in and freak out. Thanks for the suggestion I just uninstalled all asset content, and wont be installing any in the future. If i do i'll just rip em out and create my own assets. The Shop Icons just drive me nuts. Now its perfect.

I'm not a fan of the asset manager. Whenever I start up a new file It defaults to a purchased pack that's first because its in alphabetical order. Why cant the asset manager stay on the default or the last category I had used? What's super frustrating is there is a shop icon next to everything I purchased through the affinity store. its goofy and hard to read. and with all my custom categories I've created I really don't want to see that icon offsetting everything I've purchased next to everything I've created.. . When will we be able to organizse the main categories? or select a setting in the hamburger menu to disable those annoying shop icons?

Did I do something wrong? I'm signed in but need different credentials to use this forum, so i had to create another account....ahh why shouldn't there be just one account?

can file embedding be disabled? this is super frustrating. I just want to import the svg not the entire document.
