  1. Thank you for your quick response to my question.

I followed your instructions, however it appears that the Hardware Acceleration option was already disabled.

In an attempt to do a bit of problem solving, I attempted to enable it (so that I could subsequently disable it), but received an error message, "Unsupported Machine Configuration" It says that Windows 10.0.19042 is required, but that I am running 10.0.19041!

In any event, the hardware Acceleration remains disabled, but the program still crashes when I try to open a new file.

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

  2. I downloaded the latest version of Affinity Designer on March 18th.

The program shuts off when I try to make a new file or open a file.

    My OS is Windows 10(x64).

I have checked the FAQs for this issue, but have not found a solution. (Others have mentioned conflicts with other applications, but I don’t have Capture One or D3DGear installed.

I have also tried downloading the latest available GPU drivers. (as per

    https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/132016-affinity-designer-crashes-while-creating-new-document)

I have looked for the crash report (in the appdata/designer folder), but I was unable to find it.

Finally, I formatted my computer and tried installing Affinity Designer first, but it still crashes when I try to make a new file or open one.

Is there anything else I can try?
