How do you resize the area that the text is in without resizing the actual text. I want the text to reformat/wordwrap to fit the new area instead. At the moment I'm having to keep manually adding and deleting carriage returns if I want the paragraph width to be longer or shorter.

resize canvas is stretching the image instead of just the canvas (it's doing the same as resize document). Resize canvas should only resize the canvas, for example if you want to change a 1920 x 1920 image to a 1920 x 1080 image with black borders each side.

I've tried getting rid of the [x][y[z] and [v] suffixes, and replacing them with .RGB and .A (shown below), but the same issue persists after re-import, all channels are alpha except for the denoiNormal.RGB which is exported and then re-imports as RGB

Another thing that bothers me is the lack of context sensitive menus. For example, if you select two layers and then right click, you get an option to merge visible, but not merge selected, instead you have to dig through the menus. Having the most likely operations in the right click menu based on the selection seems to make more sense. if len(selected_layers) > 1: context_menu.append('merge selected')

I mean if you want to select the entire blue feature above, and then copy drag it to duplicate the selection in the same layer. Like alt drag in photoshop

if there's no equivalent, then use the standard AP shortcut. I mean, having to hold alt and left click drag to sample a colour for example is ridiculously unintuitive. I bought the entire suite, and the lack of intuitiveness and tooltips is really making me regret my purchase. The learning curve is avoidable, but has been made necessary by lack of UI information, and non industry standard keymaps.

Considering photoshop is the most used photo editing software on the planet, and affinity does most of the same tasks, and baring in mind that most new users will be coming from photoshop, would it not make sense to have all the controls/shortcuts and behaviour of tools match? Or at least have an option to select the photoshop keymap template in the preferences. It's a nightmare having to google every single command. At the absolute least, add context sensitive help so you can press f1 to get info on the tool hovered over, and maybe have the popup info extend further if the mouse is left hovered for more than 2 seconds, to show all the available functions and accompanying shortcut keys that can be used with the tool. Not to mention, non of the options in the toolbars have any tooltip popups! It's really bad. Making it immediately intuitive to new users should be high on the list of priorities if you want the product to be instantly appealing.

There's no way to drag copy? Having to copy paste reeks of microsoft paint's level of usability.

yep, it's correctly assigned to undo. I also notice if you add a second style, it wipes the entire history and there's no way to undo anything. You have to close the file and start from your last save point. I'll never use styles, but I can see it causing some tears for people that do if they haven't save for a while. Hopefully there are no other parts of the program that cause the history to be lost.

Hi, is it possible to automate the rebuilding of multilayer exr's? I'd like to just open it and everything is grouped, multiplied and added correctly based on user defined naming convention.

Hi, I've had a quick look through these forums and I can see that around a year ago there was no support for cryptomattes. Is this still the case, and are there any workaround using 3rd party plugins etc (if plugins are a thing in affinity, just lost my virginity to it today)

steps to reproduce: open hdri add style add another style both styles in the history panel cant get rid of them in the history panel or by pressing ctrl z/undo.

resizing the brush is very slow in the liquify mode because when resizing using the ctrl alt left mouse, as the brush resizes, affinity is performing the tools operation. This is very odd behaviour.
