Just tried and was met with the error 'cannot record export item'. Well that sucks.
I've now got to manually open all 30 tabs one by one, and in each press 'export - choose format click ok - then click ok on the file save dialogue'!
This software is just a never ending display of lack of insight on the part of the developers, and is the reason why I hate it and will never consider upgrading from V1. -
I've just run into this. In photoshop you'd just create a macro and run it on all open tabs. Is this possible in affinity?
-
Just out of interest, has the second bug I mentioned here been addressed in version 2?
-
Nope, still doesn't work. I'll give up for everything except painting. Davinci resolve and Blender for anything grading or image rebuilding related, and both free.
-
Oh, I see they are still releasing updates for it. I'll try updating now, hopefully it'll resolve.
-
Do they fix bugs still in version 1, or is it expected to buy the product again to get something not bug riddled?
-
Here's another bug with this portion of the program:
Add an adjustment layer to a mask:
move the mask onto the exposure and the curves are no longer accessible:

move the mask back to the top level and they're once again accessible!

-
oh ok, it's a bug. I'm guessing they won't be fixing bugs in v1 anymore. Well I'm definitely not upgrading to v2 after the 1 year experience from hell it's proven to be so far. Thanks for all your help 👍

you need to drop the mask layer to the thumbnail of the adjustment layer - not the area with the name.
That's what I'm doing. You can see where my mouse pointer is in the image above (the small blue rectangle, not the large blue filled one)
-
What's the right place? I'm dragging it here so that the small blue rectangle is over the right hand edge of the exposure thumbnail.

I tried dropping it directly on it but that didn't move it anywhere.
-
I also find it very confusing that there's no inset to indicate which layer masks and further adjustments are affecting. For example, it's this background mask was dragged onto the exposure layer:

Just wondering why this isn't visually represented like this. Mask affects the exposure layer, levels affect the mask only:

-
Thanks for your answer. What a terrible software though. Not being able to utilise the adjustment layer's built in mask simply by pasting into it after alt clicking to edit it, is yet another example of why this software sucks. I'm sick of the most obvious method of achieving things, never being the actual way to do it. Thanks anyway 👍
p.s the alternative method didn't work, it just sent the image transparent after dragging the new mask onto the exposure adjustment:
-
Thanks, I gave up though and just did it in Blender's compositor. Free and the node based workflow is much more intuitive 👍
-
I add an exposure adjustment layer to a pixel layer:

I then copy a black and white image, and now want to paste it onto the adjustment layer to control which pixels are affected.
The intuitive way would be to alt click the adjustment layer and then choose the paste, or paste into option. Unsurprisingly, neither work (because this is without doubt the most unintuitive software ever devised
)
Any clues?
-
How do I insert adjustment layer above current layer instead of inside?
-
Trying to record a macro on version 1.10, first step is to duplicate the layer, but when I right click the layer, I get no pop up menu. Is this a bug or just poor design?
-
Has a member of the team mentioned why they don't want to add this feature?

No, in macOS this default arrow cursor (which is borrowed by Affinity by the way) is always black with a white border. And also the various Affinity specific cursors don't have 2 states, whereas there exists a white arrow cursor with black border for the Node Tool.
If you have issues with this black arrow cursor in Affinity only I would rather suspect a (temporary) issue with your local system. So, maybe a reboot would influence this problem, or maybe another kind of "reset" for system / interface / temp/cache. (sorry, as mac-only user I don't know the available options for Windows)
The selection tool's crosshair has always behaved like this for me even after resets. Not to worry, I'll just have to use the force
-
there is an extremely small black border around the pointer yes, but it's the crosshair when using the selection tool that I'm having issues with. Does your invert work for that too on mac? On windows it's just black, so I can never find it.

I just switched to "Inverted" and it works for me on all parts of the app, (Canvas, Layers, Background etc)
i.e. The cursor changes colour depending on what it is placed over
(Windows 11)
Not happening on windows 10 pro. I'll have to try updating the affinity photo, maybe it's a new feature since my last update.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't seem to work when the mouse is over the canvas or background. Works in Blender though, so affinity must be overriding the cursor colour somewhere under the hood. Pity they didn't expose it.

Hi, I like working in a dark theme, but I can't find the cursor when it's over the background. Any way to get the cursor to be the opposite colour/level to whatever it's currently hovered over so it's always clearly visible?

in the sources section of the batch job dialogue there should be an 'all open tabs' option.
