Hey v_kyr! You were spot on.  I did what you instructed and the program stopped freezing.  I was able to start a new document, start tracing and save my file.  Thank you very much!  Could you per chance tell me what capabilities have I lost as a result of turning off the "automatic graphics switching"?

Super strange, the BETA just has the Spinning Wheel of Death. It's the same as the regular version.

It freezes, doesn't crash. There are no crash reports regarding it either. I'll try the Beta as well in the  meantime. Thank you for your quick response!

I've been trying to reach the support team, as I bought Affinity Designer after a friend highly recommended it. I installed it successfully on my Mac OS Catalina, and everytime I attempt to create a new document, it freezes and I have to force quit. Could anyone please advise or give me a refund?
