  1. Looks like the paintbrush was one part of it - I figured out the rest earlier tonight. Appreciate the lead on the brush.
  2. Hi folks, I'm struggling to get my mask layers to shake out & am hoping for some help. I've watched James Riston's tutorial on mask layers multiple times, followed the steps, and keep running into a couple of different issues: 1) When duplicated & placed as a child layer in the image above, the masked area shows up the way I want it to, but the area I've worked the black paintbrush over is disgustingly obvious. 2) When duplicated & placed as a child layer, the masked area just appears similarly as it does in the original image I'm putting the mask on - with the area painted as black with the brush and nothing showing from the area I'm trying to display through the mask. I've also tried to implement some sort of a weird workaround by selecting an area with the selection brush tool, inverting the selection, deleting it, then inverting the mask itself to duplicate & place as a child layer in the image above. Problem is, I get that nasty, nasty white pixel line which I have no clue how to remove. Kind of feel like I'm smashing my head into a brick wall over something that's obviously basic here - anyone willing to help me figure out where I'm going wrong? Thanks in advance.
