  1. Hi All I requested way back a default selection in the preferences so that once one sets the rulers to the users measurement requirement it be retained so this becomes a one time setting giving the user control Since I personally only print my images once I set Inches as a preference then every image but be set to match the paper size , which also measured in Inch sizes here in Canada. Can this be done in the next version please? Thanks,
  2. Hi Bruce Thanks very much for the input. I will try all of your suggestions when I have a moment All the best Doug
  3. Hi Bruce I apologize, you were correct sharpening was applied but that is not the problem. I have attached another screen capture and two originals so you can run it through AP yourself. If you are able to eliminate the blue in the feathers or the balcony edges I would appreciate know how you did it. _DSC2209.NEF _DSC1919.NEF
  4. Hi Bruce Yes but they have not yet been applied Again, thanks for your input. I received a reply from Developers vis Nathan and it would appear that the chromatic aberration and defringe can't handle the problem as designed so I will have to look at something else or exchange the lens Thanks for your help, just can't be fixed with AP
  5. Hi Nathan Too bad as Darktable and LR deals with it all nicely. I am asking Nikon about and if they ( the Manufacturer) can deal with it, then I will look into getting rid of the lens or switch to dark table as the develop module for AP Thanks for trying Nathan
  6. Hi Nathan Have you got any feedback from the developers on how I might be able to fix my problem? Thanks,
  7. Hi Bruce Thanks for responding Your observations are interesting. Neither of the Jpegs have any sharpening and are screen captures. The image shown from AP has not yet been developed and is straight from the Nikon Z7II. I also included the original raw file which is also direct from the camera with no processing applied. None o th images have sharpening applied. I am talking about the blue present in the feathers in The AP image compared to the Darktable image not the transition between sky and feathers. The darktable and Adobe LR are both able to correct for the blue coloured contamination of the birds head feathers, AP does not regardless of how I adjust either Chromatic Aberration or defringing and I am using the lens profile with these attempted corrections. None of the images have any processing applied other than Chromatic aberration correction and defringe so now how you undeveloped them? I have also had Nathan C (moderator) say he was going to discuss with developers after uploading some of my images but never heard back? Could you please explain? Thanks,
  8. Hi Guys I have asked about improving these adjustments numerous time without any fix being added to Affinity Photo. I am currently using a Nikon Z7II and 24-200 Zoom and process on a MAC pro running Monterey 12.3 with Affinity Photo 1.10.5. I read numerous reviews of this combination by pros I have followed, prior to purchasing this system, however they all use LR Classic for processing their images without this issue being present. I print large and sometimes crop sections of images and the purple, blue and green fringing is visible at 1:1 on the size of prints I make. This weekend I have taken the same images and ran them through darktable to see if I was expecting too Much. I have included two Jpegs one form darktable and the other from Affinity Photo. There is no colour artifacts on any of the edges of the darktable processing yet they are down right terrible from affinity Photo. ( have attached two Jpeg images AP first, then darktable and the original for you to play with) Could some one please help me as I am extremely frustrated with this issue, to the point I may switch back to Light room even though I have invested two years of learning into Affinity Photo. This Is the only really big problem I have with the app, but I have may some suggestions as to features I would like to see going forward, but if I could solve this one issue I could live quite nicely with affinity Photo. _DSC2210.NEF
  9. Hi Nathan Is there any news on whether the developers have fixed the above issue. I am considering switching to darktable as it does fix the issue as does LR. I would love to stick with affinity as I have become quite familiar with the app but the inability to correct for chromatic aberrations is an issue as I print big. Thanks for any update
  10. Hi Thanks for the explanation response. It would be nice to have a preference setting though, so that one could set this to another measurement unit, to print or resize in Inches or cm not pixels. I don't know if this difficult but it would be nice to have the ability when needed. Regards,
  11. Hi Again I am Currently working with AP 1.10.5 on a MacPro Running Monterey 12.3 Mac OS While I expect your developers are very busy fixing problems and developing the next release, I would like to make some requests for future features. 1. A user settable preference for "Ruler Units" so that one only needs to make the selection once and AP remembers it . Currently every time on opens in Photo persona the units are defaulted back to pixels from inches. Maybe if you could explain why it is setup this way it would make sense to leave it as is? 2. My previous request for another preference of identifying a display in a two or more display configuration, as to what each will display. As an example the Image window on the secondary display and studio panels on the first (or Main display) giving the user unobstructed view of the image only rather than cluttering it up with Panels. I can see this in a single display situation but with multiple displays on the system. This would be a set once and the system remembers the setting in User preferences. I previously sent you this request along with the download location for a temporary fix I am using, Spectacles 1.2 free app. This functionality as a user settable preference would be nice rather than pressing short cuts every time the app launches. 3. Here again I sent a previous message asking for the ability within the Photo persona to select multiple open files so that when the develop menu button is pressed it would save all of the settings for the particular lens settings would be applied to all selected open images. This would allow users to at the very least process numerous images at once for focus stacking or HDR generation. Currently, the workflow is to process each image individually, export it since AP doesn't seem to recognize .afphoto files for these types of image generation? It would also offset the lack of "DAM" functionality not to mention speed up processing. I don't know if any of these things are possible but I believe they would help us photographers that believe in AP to improve their outputs only making the bRand stronger. Thanks, Spectacle+1.2.zip
  12. HI all I am using a Mac Pro and wanted a similar solution that would allow me to solve the problem and found a simple little app (Spectacle 1.2). It allowed me to setup four shortcut keys for moving image between screens and zoom them up or down in size. Too boot it is a free app. It would be nice if it similar could be incorporated natively into Affinity Photo. Once you switch image window its position is remembered for the balance of time the app is open, it would be nice to be able to have these setting set as a preferences default in the next version release. Here is the link to Spectacle 1.2 https://github.com/eczarny/spectacle I would like to see in the developers would be able to build in preferences to control this functionality of moving and sizing the image window to a second screen so we can have the menus on one screen and the image on a second. It would be great if this was customizable so you could switch for right and left handed people and that the preference was retained even after shutdown as is the case with Plugin selections. I have included spectacle as an example which I am using as a temp solution Thanks,
  13. Hi RoelV1 Yes I agree it would be better to have Affinity give us a preference setting for monitor and zoom factor. I use the zoom short cut to make the window fit the screen size. I use a Wacom tablet so these two short cuts work fine for me, but you are correct it has to be done every time you launch the app, but before I had to mess with moving it with my pen which was time consuming. I offered it as a temp solution as I will ask the developers to build in user preference functionality for displays. Sorry it didn't work for you Regards,

  15. Hi NathanC I have uploaded the images into the dropbox link provided. Thanks for looking into this
  16. Hi Guys I had this as part of a suggestion post and realized it needed to be in the bugs forum so here it is I shoot a lot of HDR and focus shifting frames with my Nikon Z7II and 24-200 Lens. In certain instances (24 -50mm) range I sometimes get severe blue fringing that can't be removed with chromatic aberration or fringing adjustments. I have to say there has been a vast improvement in release 1.10.5, but I have included a sample frame of the blue fringing that can't be removed on the right hand balconies and when the brightness and contrast is adjusted it gets worse and is visible at 100%. I use AP on a Mac Pro 2009 running open core 4.3 and the version of AP is 1.10.5 recent release. Again I have to say that the software has improved Chromatic aberrations and defringe functions greatly, but I wanted to know if we eliminate that last extreme case shown in the attachment? I don't know if this also exists on Windows platform Thanks, 1270753100_TestImage.afphoto
  17. Hi Guys I have been using Affinity Photo for the past three years and there is nothing out there except the "Adobe originals" that comes anywhere near the capabilities and performance. I love it. I shoot a lot of HDR and focus shifting frames with my Nikon Z7II and 24-200 Lens. That said I was wondering if the developers have considered the following: Allow users to activate (select) multiple open images in the develop module? One would open a series of images, select the first, make the necessary develop adjustments on the first image then select the additional open images before pressing the develop button. This would then apply those first image settings to all of the active open images in a series. This would be a a work around Affinity not having (DAM) functionality but allow to in essence synching multiple images at one time. This would be much better than allowing Macros in the develop module. By making this possible all of the corrected images could be saved and then used in either the HDR Persona or the Panorama Persona using clean developed images avoiding my problem above and answering all the other requests for processing sequencing. Once they are merged you only need to post process develop the remaining merged image. While not quite the PS method until or when, if an Infinity (DAM) becomes a reality or not this could go a long way to speeding up processing in the two persona's mentioned above. Thanks,Test Image.afphoto 555584535_TestImage.afphoto
  18. Hi there I am on a MacPro from 2009 running Monterey 12.3 with open core 4.3 and the latest Affinity Photo Beta 10.5.1.270 and have finally been able to select and add various masks thanks to the instructions from Danod53. This is a time consuming process because of how affinity treats masks. Have you discussed this with support to see if we can get an add/subtract method as in Photoshop? I don't know how difficult it is to do, but it sure would be nice to able to just add and subtract masks with a button as in Adobe photoshop I also saw a suggestion to use the add subtract button displayed with the selection tool but there doesn't appear to be way to reference previously created masks. I have tried a couple of methods to achieve this without success. Is there something I am missing or is this not possible Thanks would appreciate a hearing back

  20. Hi Stokerg I have attached the file below. I check the allow unknown plugins and they work once the app is up and running. They both work until I close AP. When I relaunch AP the check box is no longer selected. As I mentioned I am running the versions of Mac OS and AP as shown. There is a MacOS update to 12.2 which I will wait to install until I hear from you. Should I reinstall the AP beta version? Thanks for any advice
  21. Hi Guys I am running MAC affinity Photo Beta 1.10.5.270 and noticed after adding Topaz Noise AI into the default Plugin folder (not running PS or LR) I have to enter preferences to recheck the allow unknown plugins each time I start the APP. I would have thought that once you checked it and restarted the app it should stick otherwise why add the plugin. It wastes a lot of time Am I doing something wrong or does this need to be fixed. Can you please advise? thanks,
