Hi Guys
I agree dragging the develop Propcol file from V1 to Va affinity Photo doesn't work which means onehas to recreate them one at a time in the version you are using. I also tried dragging this file from V1 to a V1 beta version and that works fine. Just doesn't work with V1 to V2.
I just sent Dan C an email with screen captures and the actual develop Propcol file for both V1 and V2 Affinity Photo. When I examined the develop Propcol file with Textedit it appears the same however V2 is only looking at the one preset I created in V2 and not any of the V1 develop presets in the Propcol file
I expect he will look into this and I will update when I hear back from him. I have looked everywhere else and can't find what V2 is looking at for develop presets.

Yes Murfee that's exactly what I normally do so in V2 at least we have a raw layer embedded.
In light room all filters, adjustments were just overlays so nothing modified the actual raw layer regardless of their type.
I really like AP and have used it for 2 years after dropping Adobe stuff. I will just have to reconsider my workflow. Just brought it up because it struck me as odd behaviour and I thought like walt why even have it if overall it will behave as V1 depending on the processing
Anyway I am done with the subject based on both of your responses, it has told me all I need to know. Thanks for your input

No Difference which why I am considering just staying with V1 because I have developed an consistent work flow.
I have asked this of Sarif but yet to hear back. Try it if you choose to create an embedded raw layer try using a filter that is a destructive filter (from Filter menu) or an add on like topaz AI noise reduction, rather than a live filter. Try it, does it happen to you that after this is done you can no longer modify the raw layer because it has been rasterized?
Let me know please so I know I am not doing something wrong.

That's what I am doing. If I update the raw layer I then replace the Duplicated pixel layer with the new created one.
It's a pain but at least I still have a raw layer I can modify if need be

All my Macs show what I sent you. Are you on an M1 mac and what version OS are you running. The screen shot was from my notebook with old software but my MacPro desk top running Monterey shows the same. The only other thing I can think of is whether your account is set up as an administrator account. If not you may not see the user Library folder.

I suspect your are looking in the main library folder.
dbl click your drive Icon on the desk top
You should see the same as attached image below where your files will be.

The folder won't appear until after the app is launched once. It will not have much in it so default items because you haven't either created presets, macros, lens profiles etc.
There should be the support folders for both V1 and V2 if both are installed and have been launched prior to looking into their folder.
Walt indicated in an initial post that the Develop presets and persona presets will not transfer with the initial data migration on initial launch.

Hi All
I determined that I need to create another layer above the raw layer to do any destructive processing with filters or add-ons. If the destructive changes are applied to the raw layer it becomes rasterized automatically and use loose it as a raw file.

Yes there is a folder for preferences and I have copied it, but to no avail, so I will have to suggest it as an update feature

I downloaded AP V2 and was disappointed to see there was not sync feature. I shoot a lot of HDR and would like to simplify the the process of matching processing on numerous raw files before merging them.
In V1 this was a very look and cumbersome process in which I had to open multiple images process each individually, save them as tif reopen them and then perform the HDR merge. I couldn't just save them and do a merge of .afphoto files because HDR merge function doesn't work with native affinity Photo files? Dah?
Could we get this capability in V2 As in Adobe Light room. I would pay more for this feature as an add on or an update. The same is true when trying to do regular or focus stacks.
It would save me an enormous amount of time, frustration and storage costs. The alternative would be able to select multiple files simultaneously allow a raw processing macro to run on all, save as .afphoto files and then run the various stacks. This would save time and storage.
Everyone can earn more money but time is a lost currency to everyone.
Thanks for the hard work but could we see this soon in AP V2 please?

I transferred this file and it didn't seem to add the missing lens presets to the develop module for some reason but thanks for the suggestion. I am on Mac so it could be different but it wasn't successful.

I am not sure I agree since the problem with personas exists on V1 as well as V2. As for the develop presets they are needed for all my archive images for 5 different camera and lens models dating back 15 years, so this would be a major problem. I need the lens presets to properly develop the images should I wish to go back and take advantage of the new features in V2. I can recreate them manually but it would be time very time consuming. Can we not find out how we could import them into V2, especially since the macro, assets, brushes, LUT's and shortcuts can be imported?
Lens types are important for lens corrections like chromatic aberrations, distortion correction, etc.

I manually go to User, library, application support, Affinity Photo folder.
In there you will find all of the files necessary to get everything back up and running, except personas studio layouts in V1. I moved a copy of all of the contents this V1 folder to the Affinity Photo V2 folder in the same application support folder after the first launch of the V2 app. This essential does the same as with V1. All of my user data is migrated however the same personas problem exists so I have to recreate the persona layouts and the Develop Lens presets don't appear to transfer so the app must be looking somewhere else for them. I am still trying to find out where they are to see if I can avoid have to do this one at a time.
The v2 app seems to be working OK for except for these two issues I have.

Also for Some reason I always have to manually redo screen tool studio layouts for despite having manually migrated the previous layout presets to the new loaded application, Why?
Lastly when undocking the tool bar and studios from the left side of the imaging viewing monitor and place on the panels monitor in a two monitor setup, the single column tool bar does not go to the top of the screen as in V1. See images below.
Can you please advise how I can migrate these setting which still exist in V1 to V2 as they will be very time consuming to redo Manually. Would appreciate this greatly

I too have Nikon .NEF files. I am not suggesting the image quality isn't great I am experiencing not being able to reopen the raw layer after applying a plugin or destructive filter (ie: haze filter) because the raw layer has been rasterized by the filter.
Could you try this and report please. I also use TopaZ Denoise AI which won't work unless you manually rasterize the raw layer. Could you try either of these technics and see if this occurs to you too?

I selected the suggested embedded option and the raw does work and well. However when you try to run the Topaz noise AI plug in it is not selectable. You have to rasterize the raw layer to be able to do this. Once rasterized you lose the ability to go back to the raw layer because it is now a standard pixel layer defeating the point of saving the raw layer in the first place.
When applying a destructive filter from the filter menu you the assistant rasterizes the raw layer burning in the raw setting and again converting the raw layer to a standard pixel layer

I had created develop presets in affinity photo and wanted to add them to AP2 but it appears there is no way to do this.
Can you help please I don't want to have recreate them one t a time?
Is there a file in the usr file that needs to be dragged to the user folder in AP2
