Thank you very much, Walt. You are correct about "roll." I digitized both photos in an Epson scanner and now that I return to examine their specs one was processed as color and one as B&W. I don't know why or how I did that and will have to investigate further - all on the learning curve. Again, thanks for being just great detectives and help.

It is odd that another photo from the same roll loads in Adobe RGB(1998) while the one I had the problem with loaded in a Greyscale. How can that be?

I am a new user. When I open a B&W jpg file in opens in Photo Persona. I want to work in Develop persona but get the message "Please select an RGB pixel layer before entering Develop." When I look in the layers column it says it is already a pixel file and yet I cannot open it in Photo.
