Freehand Selection Tool not working
in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

Since the latest update, the freehand selection tool is not working for me. I can make the selection, copy/paste, but the new layer does not have the selection made with everything else discarded. I have tried rasterizing the image before using the tool. I have new selected and feather is set to 0. I can't figure this one out. I am trying to do a dispersion effect, and was able to do this before the update. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
