  1. Thank you h_d. I'll try that next time. At the moment I've had to resort to creating it as a pattern layer in photo and then copying it across. It would save time if I could just rastorise the bitmap-filled area instead.
  2. I've created a document in Piblisher. The background pattern goes well beyond the bleed area but when I export as a PDF for print (including bleed) the bleed area is blank as if I took the background pattern up to the page borders only. Any ideas of what could be happening here and how I can fix it would be greatly appreciated. I'm already on my 3rd workaround for this background having had issues with seamless patterns and then with a bitmap fill. This time I created it as a pattern layer in Photo and then copied over.
  3. Thanks so much for taking the time to look at this Garry, I really appreciate it. I think this particular pattern is random enough to get away with this so you are a total life saver! Thanks again
  4. Thank you GarryP I'm using the latest version of Publisher and Windows 10 also. I'm not sure how I check that an image I've used for a bitmap fill is embedded seeing as I'm not actually placing it so I hope this file works OK. I've created a simplied version with just a couple of elements to illustrate the problem. I've also included screenshots of how it appears in Publisher v how it appears in the PDF export. I feel like I've been going around in circles for hours. I only tried this as a last resort as my usual method of using a seamless pattern to build the background was resulting in lines where the tiles join. This has happened lots of time in the past but only affected the screen view and was fine when exported. This time they still show in the PDF no matter what I tried so I gave up and tried another way of doing it only to run into this problem instead lol. Example_for_Forum.afpub
  5. I have a document in publisher with a background created with a bitmap fill pattern. It looks fine on screen and in a print preview. When I try to export it as a PDF (for print) the fill no longer covers the background but is displayed as a single small tile instead. Any advice on how I can solve this problem would be appreciated.
