Hi, everyone, I try to be fast and clear. I work in a shop and we print stickers, I use affinity designer usually to assign the cutcontour to the files to be cut. I would like to assign by default the cutcontour palette I made (CUTCONTOUR.PNG) but everytime I load the software, or I open a new file, the palette by default is the one you can see on the attach (called DEFAULT.PNG) I know there is a way to set default palette on the different color modes (Rgb, cmyk, ecc) but to me it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance, have a nice day

Hi everyone, first of all, i would like to congratulate all of you for the new features of the 2.1 version of the suite. I noticed that now the guides don't follow the artboard when this one is cropped, thing that happened before. Even the possibility to crop an item from any point and not just from the angles is more comfortable. I just like to suggest two more features could be useful: a context bar at the bottom, indicating info on the image, like the size of the image and the resolution, and the second one, but I almost lost the hopes on that, the possibility to choose and set the default unit. Thank you in advance and good job to everyone.

Exporting pdf issue
Federicocentrocopie replied to Federicocentrocopie's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
The reason I place the pdf and I didn't open it, is because the file I received from my client didn't have the text converted in paths, and I didn't own the font. It was the only way to read the file correctly. That's the only reason. -

Ok. Thank you. The strange thing is with the previous version everything was ok. The good thing is that at least with PDF/X4 the export is correct. have a nice day -

"If i use the PDF/X4 profile that exports correctly". Ok. Thank you, it works. But why this save preset works and the other not? Here's the pdf embedded. Tags for cabinets MMB.pdf -

Can anyone help me? Thank you -
Hi everyone, i created an A4, 4 pages, .afdesign file. I attach a screenshot of it, containing 4 placed .pdf inside each one. When I try to export, the result is the file I attached. A 4 pages A4 pdf with the an absurdly small image in the centre. With Affinity designer 1 was all ok, what happens with this version? Thank you in advance, have a good day. To know in advance the size of the artboard I need, i should make a lot of calculations I don't need and I don't want to do. Sorry to be so brutal, but with Photoshop has always been so easy, it works fine and perfect. You always like to complicate things (like the unconceivable choice to don't give the possibility to set default unit, thing we are asking for 10 years, and you have not allowed even in version 2.0, I don't think it should have been a big effort)

Ok, I'll try to be more clear with this video. I place an artboard 100x70cm size for creating a book cover A4 size closed. I place an empty A4 with 1 cm bleed (for example), then traced the guides. Add 1 cm to the left for the spine of the book. Traced the guides. Add another A4 with 1 cm bleed for the back of the cover, then traced the guides. Now I need 3 more cm. space for binding, and traced the guides for all 4 sides. Ok. We arrived at the thing I try to explain. I select the artboard to reduce its size and cut the space i don't need. I cut from the right side. I cut from the bottom side. When I drag from left to right to cut the left side, the guide follows the artboard. I need to resize the artboard at the left guide. How can I know where to cut the artboard if the guide follows the artboard? Thank you 2022_11_20_134400.mp4

Hi, everyone, working on affinity designer I noticed this: if you start creating a guide at, for example, 30mm from the left of the artboard, and then you decide the change the size of the artboard, the guide will not stay in that position but follows the artboard. This is so strange, I mean, the purpose should be the guide will be always in the same position. It is possible to fix this? Thank you in advance, have a nice day.

STAMPA-Etichette-QRmenu.pdf Hi everyone, If I open (and not place) this file in affinity designer, the brown texture on top and back is shown automatically in a low resolution. I don't know why. If I PLACE the same file in a artboard, the same texture is imported in high resolution. (I noticed it later). I needed to process the file in Adobe Illustrator to print it correctly. I politely ask you if there is something I am missing. Have a nice day

Imagine you are in a print shop, the customer comes and asks you to print a 50x70 cm photo paper. You need to open the file, change the unit, scale it, and print. Imagine you have to do it 100 times a day with no reason. Imagine you have a folder with 100 pictures of different sizes, and you need to print them all 40x60 cm. And each time you need to open the file, change the unit, scale it, and print. Have you ever heard on someone asking you "Hi, i'd like to print this picture on glossy photo paper, 2845x4745 pixel size?" If yes, tell me on which planet It's a complete non-sense. And you know because hundreds of people ask you to give us the possibility to set default unit (you can easily watch in this forum) and you do nothing. Complete non-sense. And, overall, with no reason at all.

Hi everyone I really don't understand why it is not possible to choose default unit at the start. It's amazing. Hundreds of people ask you to enable this feature and you don't hear them. I work in a print shop, I use your suite with success, but everyday I need to open hundred of images and i have to change the unit every single time from pixel to cm. It's incredibly non-sense, this thing. And you know. Why you don't let us a simple upgrade to have it? It's really inconceivable.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to solve this problem I have using Roland versaworks 5. This suite has many problems with transparencies. The file I am sending is composed by a png image and the cutcontour sign. I attach 4 files trying to explain: the first one is the original (.af design) The second one is called affinity designer pdf for print. This one has perfect quality, but the cut is no recognized. To avoid this, the only solution seems to be to save the file as a x3 pdf. If I save it on affinity designer, the cut is recognized, but the quality is very very bad (file affinity designer pdf x3) totally flattened, no contrast at all. If i save it on illustrator, the cut is recognized, and the quality is perfect (file illustrator pdf x3). So my question is: why there is so much difference between this 2 results? Do I need to process the files with Illustrator to have an acceptable quality? Thank you in advance, have a good day. Illustrator pdf x3 cut recognized, optimum quality when printed.pdf Affinity desginer pdf x3 cut recognized, but very bad quality when printed.pdf Affinity Designer Pdf for print no cut in versaworks.pdf original.afdesign

Sorry but this "If thousands of vectors are copied over and over it will bog done any system, the program needs to calculate every position, etc. of every single a shape.Grouping may resolve some issues" doesn't work, it could be ok if the same file, worked in the same way, will not run perfectly fast, efficient, and sharp, on my low budget 300€ laptop pc. It should work worse on that pc, not better than on a 1500€ iMac.
