  1. The ‘OpenGL’ option can be found and set in each Affinity apps Preferences; Preferences > Performance > Display
  2. To use Photos Batch Job processor to do the converting; Go to File > New Batch Job. In the window that opens, on the Left Hand side add all the TIFF files you want to convert. In the top section of the Right Hand side under ‘Output’ you can either Save to the same location as the originals or choose another location by selecting; Save into… and choosing a location by clicking the ellipsis icon to the right. Next, deselect the default option of ‘Save as AFPhoto’ and select the “Save as” file option of your choice from those offered. Click on the ellipsis icon at the far right of your chosen file type to open a popup where you can set any other user definable output options like for example; the amount of file compression to be used, etc… If you do not want to change the resulting files dimensions then leave the W & H fields empty. If you want to run a Macro that you have in AP’s Macro library select and Apply it now. If you don’t want to run any Macros then just ignore that section. Now click the OK button bottom right corner of the window to start the process.
  3. Can you clarify exactly what steps you take when Saving your edited images in step 4? I’ve just tried this (though not with the same number of files as in your screenshot. So a possible variable to consider?) and I’m not getting any unexpected results. A screen recording could possibly be helpful so we can see exactly what happens.
  4. The linking of images only happens in the production file, to keep it smaller and lighter, not in the final exported PDF where the actual images will be used subject to your PDF export settings.
  5. If you are the only person working with the production document and have full control of where the images to be used are stored on your system, then click ‘Yes’. It can greatly reduce the size of your working file and potentially making it more responsive to work with. If you should later move the storage location of any of the images being used they can be re-linked but really is best not to move them during production if you can avoid it.
  6. Looks like you have 'Preserve Alpha' turned on which will prevent any Blurring.
  7. No, not really🤔 Lee posted the following back in Nov of 2022, but it gives very little away as to why they were dropped…
  8. Hello and welcome Ralph to the Affinity forums🙂 I’m not sure what you are referring to by “attachments”? Maybe you can explain further what these "attachments" you wish to connect to are? But perhaps you are referring to the ‘Extensions’ on macOS that gave some limited Affinity Photo editing options in Apple Photos? If this is so then these Extensions were mostly removed in Affinity Photo 2. The only remaining extension now is ‘Edit in Affinity Photo’ which will launch the full Affinity Photo 2 app and load the chosen Apple Photos image into it.
  9. In addition to Garry's comments I would recommend waiting till after first launching the v2 editions before removing the v1’s, as v2 will ask if you want to migrate stuff over to them that you may have added to the v1’s. When deleting the v1’s I would also recommend using an app like, at least on Macs, AppCleaner, as it will not only delete the apps themselves but also look through your hard drive for the v1 support folders which, depending on what you may have added to the apps over time, can measure into the Gigabytes of storage space used. AppCleaner will present you with a list of what it has found which you can verify/edit before it removes what it’s found.
  10. You could use an Ellipse with a radial Fill or use concentric ring made with the Donut Tool and some Layer Effects. The attached was just quickly done but gives you some ideas hopefully. PainSights.afphoto
  11. Select the white border with the Selection Brush > Invert Selection > Mask Layer. Or destructively: Select the white border with the Selection Brush > Delete.
  12. Hello Tim4214 and welcome to the Affinity forums🙂 Which OS are you on; macOS, Win? And which version of said? Is it only one of the Affinity apps that is affected or all three? Are you sure you have correctly activated Full Screen mode? Are you able you post screenshots or a recording of your entire screen so we can see what you are seeing? On macOS click the small green traffic light button, top left of the app window, to enter Full Screen mode. Or to toggle In/Out of Full Screen on Mac use key command: control+command+F
  13. You appear to have the ‘Force Pressure’ mode active for Stylus input in the top Toolbar. This will override any manual input of size in the Size field when using a pressure sensitive stylus. Turning it Off should make both Mouse and Pen the same.
  14. It's not something I've used before in the Develop persona but yes I get the same result as you with Portrait orientated photos. Got to be a bug!
  15. If you activate ‘Antialias’ in the Context toolbar for the Flood Selection tool before making your selection dose that help you get your desired result?
  16. I approached it only slightly differently to Psenda; Food Selection tool to 25% with Add to selection enabled. Click once on every Orange item. Cut and past all the selected Orange areas to a new layer. While they are still selected i.e the “marching ants” are still “marching”, go to Filters > Blur > Average. Clear the selection and now select the Blue layer in the Layers panel and again go to; Filters > Blur > Average. But I wonder about the slight edge to the original letters, if that is not deliberate and part of the original design? Not sure I would have expected to see that happen to text on a high quality scan of an album cover? In the attached I added a small amount of a bevelled edge to the “new” Orange items as without it, to me it just looks too flat. ToRecordOnlyWaterForTenDays-markw_Adjusted.afphoto
  17. If all you did was change the DPI metadata, then no pixels will have been added or taken away.
  18. Are you wishing to create your own "Locked" Affinity files that can only be viewed by others? If so I don't think there is a way general users of the apps can do this. The Workbook example files were specifically made in-house by Serif.
  19. Regarding point 3 from their suggestions; What size, in terms pixels H x W, do they require your image to be? If your image is too small in terms of pixels, and they then enlarge it to fill their canvas, you would see the relative dpi drop.
  20. Perhaps a bit late to the party here but for the sake of completeness; exporting each Artboard one at a time via File > Export and they come out the correct size every time. Only seems to be the Export persona that has a problem with the High Pass filter. One for the devs to ponder over…
  21. If I start with either rectangle tool and then want to switch to the other, the original rectangle tool is still kept. I can only change to the other rectangle tool if I first select another shape tool, use it, and then select the rectangle tool I tried to switch to earlier. The accompanying rough recording I hope will help you see what is happening. RectangleTool.mp4
  22. These may not work for you but here are some more options to maybe try; In your example the effect on your circle is very slight and could be mimicked perhaps with just using good old Gaussian Blur at a low % radius…? Another Gaussian method that clips the edges of the rectangle but increases the amount of “transparency” within the Rectangle; Duplicate Rectangle. Set a large amount of Blur for one of the Rectangles. Draw out another Rectangle over the Blured one so that it completely covers it. Select this rectangle and the Duplicated one from earlier and subtract the smaller shape from the larger one. You should now have a Rectangle with a hole in it. Set it’s Blend Mode to Erase. Now select it and the Blurred Rectangle and Group them together. This Grouping is needed to prevent the Clipping Mask's Erase Blend mode from effecting any layers below it. Optionally; In my example I also gave just a small amount of Blur to the Clipping Mask as well. But it all depends on how hard an edge you want to the visible Blue rectangle. 23. Thanks for the screenshot🙂 Which Apple operating System are you on? As noted by others here, it dose not look like you are looking in the right place. Where exactly are you looking that gives the page shown in your screenshot? Neither the macOS App Store as accessed via my computer nor the iOS App Store as accessed via my iPhone shows me a page like the one in your screenshot.
