  1. in the real world, when I buy a product and it does not work properly, I go and make the seller repair this...unfortunately in the digital world with apps and programmes there is imo no customer service...once the product is sold to customers they are left alone or advised to ask in a forum of users...I have the feeling with Affinity its the same...its a pity as I like the Affinity products....
  2. And I am shortsighted...means natural magnifier ;-)
  3. not in this forum, as far as I remember in an apple forum...so there is no option to turn it off in general settings?
  4. how do I completely turn the spelling check off? couldnt find this in the settings menu of AD, but read it should be possible....having to turn it off each time I open a doc drives me crazy as I use text in my illustrations very often...
  5. I know there are also problems with light mode...but we dont even have the choice to use the mode which is best for our work (even though we paid for the software)...and most illustrators do their outlines/drawings in black...lets be clear: I like working with Affinity but there are annoyances like missing light mode, colour palettes import/export/missing ruler etc. that make it very hard to work professionally...
  6. addendum: a screenshot of Vectornator for ipad which is a free app and offers light and dark mode...if its possible in a free app why shouldnt it be possible in a programme we paid for I wonder.....
  7. dont know if thread starter still follows this thread, but I had an issue with an AI psd file yesterday and solved it following: saved it to a folder on my ipad, then started AD, there: "open file from cloud" and imported the saved psd...thats the workaround...
  8. it is really very disappointing that Serif Staff do not comment on this or try to help professionals who use Affinity software with this major problem...
  9. as there is no light UI of AD ipad in sight (see Feedback: ) how do any of you deal with black assets or outlines (see pic)..I'm really struggeling with not being able to actually see them clearly and having to guess instead) and again thinking of changing back to Adobe...but before I consider this...does somebody (maybe even of Serif Staff as they face the same problem on ipad) have a workaround? thanks in advance
  10. as I told you it works with a bit of a workaround...I ve just done it: I mainly use Affinity Designer but sometimes do vector drawings in Adobe Fresco (free version) after finishing it I go to "export" either as pdf or psd...send to...Affinity...that works fine, done it many times (newest version of AD)
  11. you should be able to open the psd file from within Affinity...but you cant do it the other way around..(select file...open with....choose Affinity)its like Walt suggests: I had the same problem whilst having adobe fresco eg installed...even contacted Serif, Apple and Adobe concerning this problem..only.when I deleted all adobe programmes I could open psd files with selecting them..then "open with" Affinity..but I had to reinstall adobe fresco recently and now its only possible to open psd files from Affinity...hope that helps 🙂
  12. This might be a bug: Pantone palettes in AD ipad cant be deleted...but newly created palettes can...txs in advance for fixing 🙂
  13. thank you! could be! but if that is really the case in AD for ipad too its a bit annoying as an ipad is usually used by one person and there is not even the option to hide the palettes, I really never use the Pantone palettes as there is no search option and I have other options to find colours I like eg...and the workflow with palettes in general is a bit complicated as there is no search/import/export option...I only use AD ipad at the moment although I also own the AD desktop version...nevertheless thank you 🙂
  14. I dont have this option in Pantone Palettes, dont know why....pls see pic (the one with the white spots is Pantone)...its in German but delete option is not there...but it is in my own palettes....
  15. how do I delete Pantone palettes in AD ipad as it is possible with my own palettes? couldnt find the "delete" option, bit blind after having spent hours and hours with vector illustrations;-)...thanks
  16. https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont
  17. I also add my voice for a light mode it...its absolutely crucial in a design programm to be able to see black assets eg....as with other crucial things missing in AD for ipad like a ruler, import of colour palettes, genuine vector brushes etc...I have to admit that I loved to work with Affinity programmes and even recommended it to other artists...but after a while working with the programme as a kind of power user I wonder if I did the right step to leave Adobe completely...
  18. Thank you very much for explaining and also providing solutions..much appreciated :-)...nevertheless its horrible news as I have many more documents (illustrations as well) which I have renamed in the past and never knew...so somehow I have to delete the sandbox files and save all my docs anew...I wonder if I will be able to do that..
  19. as I'm not an English native and using AD in another language, I'm not quite sure what the sandbox is? And @Renaming: there is the option, why is it there if I can't use it more than one more time...I'm confused now... I use a model document which I duplicate and edit and have to rename. this is the most efficient way for me...and this is not possible because of the ipad? I think every AD user renames documents more than one time sometimes ...
  20. iPad pro, 12,9 2020, ios 13.7, AD for Ipad (including newest update)..thanks in advance
  21. I have both AD and AP on iPad....its there in Affinity photo...I've just tried it myself...right above the colour wheel are two coloured circles, one ist the filling, the other one is the outline...as a workaround: set both of them to black 🙂
