  1. yup, it was the Pixel Brush Tool from within the Pixel Persona, I just had to create my own new square brush and turn off wet edges to off explicitly from within the brush settings, there is no web edges option in the tool bar. I have an ultra wide monitor so there is nothing off screen hiding. Sig,h i feel like there should be a default pixel brush in the basic brushes, having to jump through extra hoops to get back to where you were is not great. But I did solve it for myself, Thanks!

When in Pixel Mode of Affinity Designer, when basic brush is selected with Alternate: Erase option, the alternate erasing doesn't remove 100% of the image even when flow, hardness, opacity set to 100%. This requires multiple passes to fully erase a given pixel, which is infuriating for pixel work. Not sure how else to reset the pixel brush back to an actual binary pixel tool, ie draws at 100% color, erases 100% color. Seems when you select any other brush there is no way to get back to the original state of the pixel tool.
  3. The basic brush at 1px width in pixel mode with flow and hardness set to 100% takes multiple passes to erase a color completely, it is completely infuriating to do pixel work in this app. This is just one of multiple problems with working in pixel mode
  4. all i can say to all of this is i agree and pixel perfect work is still infuriating and something should be done about it even if its an entirely new workflow. C'mon MS Paint had this down in Win95. I get that its a vector art program, but to have a pixel mode that cant do pixel work defeats the point of pixel mode.
  5. yeah this still happens in v2 and I agree with the above, with force whole pixels, should force WHOLE pixels not half pixels. It kind of defeats the point.
  6. Designer v2 seems to crash way more often than v1, one of the biggest offenders is when I copy a group from one open file and click the tab of another file that I want to paste it into, both files are relatively small, not very performance taxing, and it crashes almost anytime I do this.
  7. I see so you are looking more-so to merge documents, which is different than the use case i was using this technique for.
  8. This is possible and very quick. It actually works just fine. You can simply 'Prefer Linked' resources on new document creation, near the page size etc. (or you can make them linked later on in Document->Resource Manager) but you simply use the place image tool and place that multi-page pdf. Then you can copy/paste the placement frame and just select another page of the pdf from the 'Spread:' option at the top of the screen. From there you can still crop/zoom the frame etc. If you look in Document->Resource Manager, you'll see each of the placement usages are linked under the single pdf file. if you WANT to you can embed each image directly but its better to just link the one pdf.
  9. In Designer v 1.9, I cannot export a png with 32 bit-depth, only 24. I read in a previous forum that all i have to do is select the transparency checkbox in the document setup but that still exports a 24 bit depth png, and its causing me lots of headaches rendering textures in a game engine. I'm on windows 10 fyi.
