  1. I use the pencil tool extensively for inking on Ipad. My style involves frequently starting new lines from the middle of existing ones. Here's my current workflow: Draw the first curve using the Pencil tool. Begin the second curve using the Pencil tool, starting from the middle of the first curve. Use the Node tool to select the starting node of the second curve. Drag the start node to the middle of the first curve. A yellow snapping indicator appears. Release the node and let it snap into place. Here's my preferred workflow: Draw the first curve using the Pencil tool. Begin the second curve with the Pencil tool, starting from the middle of the first curve. The starting node of the second curve should automatically snap to the nearest point on the first curve. Is it possible?
  2. Thanks for the video. It seems this behaviour is same across desktop version (Windows and Mac). There is also a slight delay for the duplication to form in your demo. Workaround for duplicate: Now I would just cmd + J (ctrl +J) to duplicate first, then simply move the copy around. Nonetheless, there are many cases where this delay is not desirable and this behaviour also applies to Shift keyFor example, holding down Shift key while rotating an item for the perfect 0° or 90° degree, I will still have to hold the Shift until it is really "rotated". In the beginning of the video, I released the Shift key sooner than the required delay, the rotation would not happen and rotated back a few degrees, which is strange. 3. Do you experience the same behaviour? It disrupt the flow so much and it is annoying. Also resource is certainly not the issue here: My machine is MBP with 16gb. It is almost overkill for the job I'm doing as well as for the demo video. The ram usage is about 70-80% all the time at the max. I even tried disabled the said plugin and clear all programs in the background, the behaviour persists.
  4. Can you not play the video and understand the demo by watching the content? I tried to to download the video and it is playing fine. The "jello blob" is just some plugin(RunCat) I'm using and I don't think that has anything to do with our topic.
  5. Screen Recording 2022-04-08 at 10.18.28 AM.mov That's exactly how I did it. The delay moment I was saying is the later part. The period between releasing the mouse button and command key is about 0.5 second. After dragging the object to a place, I will release the mouse click and wait for at least 0.5 second (for the new object to appear in the Layer panel), then release the command key. (demonstrated in the last part of the video). If I release the command any sooner, the object goes back to original place and there will be no copy (demonstrated in the beginning of the video). On Ipad, the finger holding press will be the command key press. After dragging an object with Apple Pen and move the the Pen away from the screen, I can immediately remove the finger press and the copy will be there. Zero delay.
  6. MacOS Monterey 12.2.1 (21D62) on MacBook Pro M1. Affinity Designer 1.10.5 (latest) Please refer the video. First two attempt was releasing the CMD key before the delay period is met, you can see the indicated duplication is cancelled. Third attempt I hold long enough for the duplication to success. Note that you can see at the Layers panel on the right, the duplication layer has to appear first before releasing CMD key, which takes quite a while. Screen Recording 2022-04-08 at 10.18.28 AM.mov
  7. For example, to duplicate an item I would use move tool + CMD key to drag and drop. Then I will have to wait for a while (about 0.5 second) before releasing the click, then the CMD key, in order for the duplication to be success. On Ipad, an additional press on the screen would be the CMD equivalent and it is instant for such operation. Is there any way to configure this behaviour so so the CMD key shortcut will be instant on desktop?
  8. I login just to show support to the previous posts. I could die in peave if one of the following happen: New item/artboard was inserted at the BOTTOM of layer list instead of TOP (Moving new item to the bottom once I create them has become my muscle memory now) Have option to export PDF in particular order Top to bottom and Left to right is the only way this world works my dear Serif...
